If yes, how do you imagine your own? If not, think hard - how many times u went to the store and came back with things u didn't even need and didn't buy the stuff u went to get?
We've made the online grocery list. We are looking for your input so you get the list you want.
Speak now or forever hold your peace! :-)

I do this all the time. I have a list of things that I often buy; before I go to the store, I check it to see if there is anything that I need that I've left off my list. Ideally, a computerized grocery list would be capable of running on a hand-held device, would keep track of how often you buy repeat items (staples like toilet paper or bread, for instance), and give you a heads-up if it's about time for you to buy more. It would be truly great if it could scan what you have in your cupboard, and then keep track as you use things, in addition to scanning what you purchase (or even having a download sent from the store's computer to the device).

Just my thoughts...

no I don't and likely wouldn't

list making:
1) a pen & paper works pretty good - and i can use scrap
2) the recipe's I use - I nearly always have some of the stuff - so direct copy from the internet is not useful - and I go around the kitchen checking on what I need - again, a pen and paper work pretty good - computer - not so much.

going to the store:
1) a single grocery store rarely has every item I want/need
2) I often check out things that are 'hard to find' when I'm there and make menu changes based on the missing and new things
3) I seem to have to go to at least 2 to 3 stores to get everything - I find that really irritating by the 3rd one.

all that said - I might if I were to buy a bunch of ordinary/common packaged things and send someone to get it. Then I might just want it delivered at that point.

I use to have a program that was in a old Tandy computer I had..it was fixed so that almost anything you might want was in it . You could add or delete stuff and customize it. Then you just went in and clicked what you needed each week as you thought of it..print it out and you were good to go.
That computer cost a small fortune back then and all we ever used it for was that and other lists and printing letters and labels.
I think a list can be done now on most any of the software that already comes with your computer now.

I tried using the online grocery list, and it was more trouble than it was worth. I had to search for the items I needed, and even further for the brands (to get the coupons). I also had to go back and forth from the kitchen to the computer to make the list.

I stick to the tried and true method of making my list and keeping it on the fridge as I run out of stuff and taking that to the market, or (my favorite) going to the market hungry!

Someone told me that they use a computer program to make up their grocery list. They can input prices, etc., and know within pennies what their grocery bill is going to come to.

I think it's lovely to have a plan -- but setting it up is such a big hassle!

Our grocery store makes deliveries, and faxes us a list; we buy the same basics every week, so it's very handy.

I would use an online list and do. It helps me remember things I need, especially things I don't buy regularly. It should have the capacity to be personalized, so you can add choices that might be less mainstream, like ethnic foods etc.

Why would I spend time writing a simple grocery list when I could easily grab a pencil and write stuff down?

It is not worth the hassle.

To answer you question, yes, I'd use a computer, but only if it had had dinner. Otherwise, it'd probably buy stuff like Sugar Pops and Pop Tarts.

I already shop this way, set it up with a program I created with my local grocer and have a patent pending. It works great and we alrready have signed multiple corners. See you in the market. :)
