The thing is that the liberals actually have no idea what the solution is, they only know that they irrationally loathe Republicans and Bush and will say the opposite to whatever they/he says. It's the same here in Australia, and with socialists all over the world. They are on all the same bandwagons. It makes them feel better about themselves when in fact, people with the capacity to reason know that these self-righteous liberals who think they're morally superior to everyone are actually doing more harm than good. But they can never see this.
My point being, is that they have no solution to this problem. They love blathering the old catch-cry "bring them home" but don't actually care what happens to all the Iraqi civilians (at first, then the rest of the middle east and the world) when their whole country implodes with violence. The violence there at the moment is NOTHING compared with what would happen if we simply "brought the troops home".
The liberals pretend to care about Iraqis, but a child could see that their policies can only bring about much more harm to everyone. Liberals can't see that in fact, they are just scared that by taking a stand against evil, evil will come looking for them. That's true, but evil will come looking for us anyway. It already has.
They have no plan. No solution. Just hate for a party and president. And ironically (and hypocritcally), these are the people who pretend to have caring and 'love' for everyone. God save us from their 'love'!

Here's an interesting answer.
You know you Republicans always expect the Liberals to have a plan when have so stupidly screwed up.
information_police -- so you Republicans go to war against the resolve of the UN and now you want the UN to try fix things for you.
carolinatinpan -- where did you get this information? How is a poll like this taken in a country with war going on, where people can't get clean water, their children can't go to school, homes and businesses are trashed, doctors are leaving, the US drops bombs on you indiscriminately. You are are saying the last four years has made them happy for the US, so-called, liberators. I bet you'd be just be thrilled to by liberated in this manner! Just think 600,000 Iraqis dead.
Rachel L -- And its genius conservatives that are so damn proud of their irrational choice to kill 600,000 Iraqis and more by the day in the name of Freedom. The US, if you will remember, invaded Iraq because Bush, untruthfully claimed that he was after WMD when he was supposed to be finding the people that committed the 9/11 terror. There was nothing claimed about any link between Iraq and 9/11. And people are still spouting the lie of WMD and terrorists in Iraq.

It's too much of a mess to fix. It shoul;d never have been started. Most people with experience of the Middle East warned against getting involved in this war, especially the French. How right they were.
If the occupiers stay there will be many more deaths and they will be there for years. If they go there will be chaos and maybe civil war

You have bought into the Liberal media. 80% of Iraq is peaceful. 70% of Iraqis feel life is better now than under Saddam. 500 people are killed in Chicago every month. That is a lot more than in Baghdad. And there is a war going on in that country. Al Quiada has policemen telling reporters about deaths that never happened. Remamber a few months back when they said 40 people were found bound and shot? Never happened. Wake up and quit listening to the lies.

Shiites and Sunnis have been hating each other for over a thousand years and we aren't going to get them to like each other by force. 4 years and the causalties are still INCREASING every month. The only solution for peace is Iraq is for the factions there to negotiate some kind of agreement by which either they share power and oil or they split up into autonomous regions with sharing of oil. They aren't working on a solution now and they are protected from all out war by our presence.
I think you set a date and tell the sides there that they need to negotiate a peace by then or we will leave. Facilitate negotiations and don't take crap from them. Perhaps you leave international peacekeeping forces there, but really I don't see that working. They have to keep their own peace.
And if they choose to fight it out, that's their choice.

There is no fixing it. We can't bring them home if the President is going to veto all their measures. Their only chance is to reduce funding. I don't know how that will affect our troops. This isn't as cut and dry as you assume it is.

Well would you please enlighten us all as to how the Conservatives plan to fix things!!! Or are we destined to "stay the course". What ever that means. I've been trying to figure out what the course is for 4 years now.

Why do republicans want to blame dems for their screw up? Even if the dems came up with a perfect plan it wouldn't matter because Bush is still the president, and he is going to do it his way regardless of what anyone else says.
