I live in CA (USA) and plan on traveling to Jamaica leaving on April 1st of this year. I applied for my passport on February 13th and still have not recieved it yet. I plan on getting married there and will be absolutely crushed if we can't go and have to cancel everything. The government is backed up with application processes I understand and everytime I try to call I can't get through. I have also emailed with no reply back. All expedited agencies also put you on hold with no customer service person at all. Please any suggestions? I am really going crazy over this and I will be devasted to throw this all away over stupid gov red tape.

Ask around your friends and family if anyone knows anyone working in any gov admin office...see if they have another contact who could at least help you to get through finding out if the pspt is on the way or not...maybe pleading your upcoming marriage will help!

Good luck!

You should have expidited it or planed ahead. They charge about 50 bucks more and guarantee it in two weeks. If it falls through, see if you can change the date or go to Vegas. I really must point the blame at you. It is not red tape these things do not get processed over night. We are going to China in June and I am already getting my visas ready. You must plan ahead. Good luck.

someone on another travel board suggested calling your congress person to help out.

Keep calling that number on the passport site. Try late at night (around 10-11PM)

Good Luck and try your congressperson.

Find out who your local Congressman or woman is and e-mail them with your dilemma. I had the same problem and they are assisting me and my family so that we get ours in time. The are waiving the fees to have them expidited and personally seeing that we have them in time for our vacation.

That's awful. Can you consider rescheduling the wedding?
