once you shed some weight, your body adjusts by slowing down its metabolism to hang on to body fat because fat is the bodys fuel reserve. to get through this plateau you may have to tweak your diet or exercise routine. change the time you workout, the intensity. or change the time of day you eat. things like that. a reminder: varying your calorie intake from day to day is a great way to stimulte your metabolism. translation: dont create a set caloric intake for yourself. however, dont consistenly overeat either. losing weight can be tricky. you have to find what works for you. good luck blasting through your barrier!

When you've been exercising for a while, you become stronger. When you get stronger, the same exercises just won't give you the intensity they did when you first started and were weaker. The concept is easy to imagine if you think about someone who starts lifting weights. 10 lbs dumbbells may have worked when they first started, but if they never increase the weight the results just plateau. Changing your diet won't give you any greater results. Stick with the diet that's been working for you. What you need to do is add more strenuous exercises. You can do this by adding ankle and/or wrist weights to your old workout. If you've been running or walking, the weights will help, but so will going further and faster.

Congratulations on your weight loss, increased strength, and improved health!

discipline. don't give up! try to shake up your workout or substitute more vegetables for any bread or sugar in your diet.
