Recently there been an influx of huge a*ss mosquitoes around my house. I'm a little wary of using insecticides and all and I was wondering are there any natural mosquito repelants that aren't harmful to babies and are easily obtained?

I've heard and tested that vanilla extract and water solution on skin does the trick (obviously not great if you want to keep a whole room or the porch mosquito free), and at some science show when I was channel surfing that the sound of male mosquitoes' hum also keeps away female mosquitoes.

Any ideas? Is vanilla a tree or a plant?

Skin So Soft is one repellent that is natural and not harmful to babies (I forgot who makes it). It is a skin conditioner that was found to be a good repellent.

I use Repel Lemon Eucalptus for the ones in South Louisiana that were swarming in a swamp where I was working post Hurricane Katrina.

It kept them away for hours. I found it at an Ace Hardware store. It is made by WPCBrands www.wpcbrands.com
