However, your forum is obviously based in China, which means it is censored. No one would be able to talk about anything interesting because Chinese get their feelings hurt if you complain about the pollution. Creating forums that only have people talking about the beauties of China is your government's job. Good luck

Well, I think this is one way. Advertise on Yahoo! Answers. As long as you are controlling the members, you should be OK. You might visit other sites that talk about China and ask if they will let you link with them, or post an e-mail address.
You'll probably find a good audience among "alumni" -- people who have been to China on a foreign exchange program. Check with your colleges to see if you can find a way to contact those people. One of my cousins has studied in China for three months, and another one is there right now.

I'm interested! I spent a month there last summer as an independent traveller, visiting my son for one of the weeks, he lived there or a year. Has just moved to Japan - my next holiday! I have done a fair bit of reading about China over the years, including the ubiquitous and lovely Wild Swans, and Mao - The True Story, as well as many novels and autobiographies by ex-pat Chinese writers, including Xinran.
Its true though, that if you are based in China you won't get open honest discussion.

You might try asking expat sites if they would endorse your forum. Many expat sites have mutual agreements to endorse each other. The expat site for my Chinese "hometown" lists several expat sites for other cities, just as they list us. Good luck!

there is the site: http://chinesepod.com they have a blog a forum and a wiki (and the best mandarin lessons on the web) where you can post links to your site. It is very popular and active.
If you send them a message, they may even promote your site on their podcast.
