Dont get yourself mixed up."

Right, so what was God doing before that?

God is God from all eternity (Psalm 90:2). God is the supreme being of the universe.

He is the creator of all things (Isaiah 44:24). He alone is God (Isaiah 45:21,22; 46:9; 47:8). There have never been any Gods before Him nor will there be any after Him (Isaiah 43:10). In Exodus 3:14, God revealed His name to His people.

Before he created Earth, He was busy creating the universe and moulding the perfect environment in which all his creation (whether on Earth or beyond?) can discover and improve everything that they have been given.. Which gets us thinking, if God created this universe, what purpose does the vastness of space serve if the Earth is the only planet inhabited by His creations? Another question for another day..

"In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth"

That's OUR beginning. Some day when I get to Heaven, I want to ask Him questions like yours. Hey God,
where were you and what were you doing before you decided to create?

Given the big bang theory, the universe began with an explosion of matter. As the universe expands, it begins to slow and then contract. Scientists are able to prove that the universe expansion is slowing. Once the universe contracts into a mass, it will explode again and the cycle repeats. Near the end of his life, the great astronomer Carl Sagan began to believe in God because he saw the profound evidence of His existence. God always was and always will be. He is the alpha and the omega. The universe is just one sign of His infinite existence.

One sometimes forgets that God exists in the eternal present and that time was created for his creation but God dwells outside of time. Thus His explanation " I am".

Just hanging around somewhere out in Limbo, I suppose. I guess He just found other ways of amusing himself as opposed to watching us go about our lives.
