most of the music channels are no commercials (well techinally) but XM is one of only two satellite radios and its 12.95 a month bascially the signals are beaned up to teh satellite and it is encoded and retransmitted back down to us and our units can take the signals and broadcast it over any non used fm station.

XM radio is wonderfull. I have had the service for several years. It is satellite radio and you can get reception anywhere in the USA. So you can drive from NY to LA and never change the station theoretically. You get close to 200 stations with about 10 rock 10 country 10 urban 10 classic on and on. No commercials at all on the music. Then you also get about 4 comedy channels old time radio, FOX CNN PBS America right and left. Talk you get the idea. It is about 13 bucks a month or you can pay anually for a little less money. I have friends who would never pay for radio but I could not live with out it. I prefer XM over Serious because I do not care for Howard Stern. They are to merge sometime this year but I bet the govt. will not let them because of the anti trust monopoly situation that it would create. I give XM a big thumbs up.
