They say the sweetest things to me. My six year old just came up to me all serious with a ring box in his hands. He opened it, towards me and it was empty, and he said, "Will you be my mom?" My oldest, when he was four, was also darling- He said: "Mom, I love you like I had a thousand hearts." What do your kids say to you that makes your heart sing?

I normally wouldnt even post an answer to these questions..but I enjoy reading them.
I had to post though after I seen "go moms" in a previous post.
I am a single father of 2 children. Their mother left us while one was 2 months old, and the other was a little over a year old. Left with the car and the money. $20,000 in nonpaid child-support later, here we are.
Soooo, forgive me for saying that we may want to recognize the dads too.
I have raised them by myself for 12 years now, and they still say the greatest things to me out of respect.
My youngest just came to me today and said "dad, I made up a song about you today. I cant sing it to you yet because its not perfect yet..but you are"...he then said "well..perfect for me".
I have worked hard to raise them right, and to have respect for everyone..including their mother. which they have met only twice.
My advice to all parents is to never wish your kids to get older..once older, we will wish they were young again.

My daughter use to say alot of sweet things to me before her disease got so bad she could no longer find the strength to talk. I remember when she over heard a dr tell me that they felt she was at the end of her life cycle {she is battling stage 4 chronic lung disease and will only be 14 next week} I thought she was asleep behind the curtain I sure as hell never wanted her to hear that. But she was playing possum knowing if he eyes were closed they wouldnt mess with her. Ofcourse I started crying what parent wouldnt I went back in saw she was awake she took my hand and said "thank you for being my mom and fighting for me" maybe not as cute as what your kids have said but it touched me. My son is only 10 months he doesnt say much but Im sure he will in the future

Thanks for posting this. The answers are so sweet. I would get up and hug my daughter if she weren't out with her friends. My 17 year old daughter says I love before she leaves the house and before we hang up on the phone. When we go places together she likes to link arms while we are walking. That's the wonderful thing about kids. They may drive you crazy, even more so when they are teenagers (13 was rough!) but it's a love that never dies.

That is SO adorable! Mine is only 19 months old right now. The sweetest thing she's ever done is say I love you. I was sleeping in one weekend while Daddy got up with her. She came in after she got changed and started stroking my cheek. I woke up to her staring me in the face with her hand still on my cheek. I said Hi baby. And she says, Mom mom lovoo. (mommy love you) I hope shes as sweet as your kids sound when shes older, Thats just too cute!

Not long ago my 7 year old was ill, had a fever. She slept in my bed with me so I could monitor her all night. Around 3 am, she started to get hot again, so I have the motrin, and the cool washcloth, and rubbed her back to try to keep her calm and comfortable. She started to cry a little bit, and looked in my eyes and said "you're the best friend I ever had. You're the best thing that ever happened to me."

It was the most sincere, sweet, heart-warming thing I've ever heard. It made my day... nah, my life. :)

my kids are terrors and sometimes i feel like going crazy. my oldest who is 5 almost 6 comes up to me and will rub my head when i'm on the couch and tell me how much he loves me, my daughter who is 4 says she's a princess and does her ballet all the time and sings.
but hey all children can be little monsters my youngest who is 16 months old just broke my curtain rod in my house and my daughter wiped nail polish all over my brand new television.
all kids are precious some just have more interesting yet head pounding personalities you got lucky it looks like.

My 6 year old says "Mommy I am glad you are my mommy. I do not think I would like another one." My 2 year old says "I love you 300 bucks and 200 trees." I am not sure where she gets the tree thing from but I still love to hear her say it.
