If you have any gracious friends and family or haven't already registered for very much yet I suggest looking at http://www.honeymoonwishes.com/ or http://www.giftpile.com/ which allow you to select a trip and have friends and family attending your wedding purchase something on the trip for you, just as they would a gift. I know several friends who used these service for their wedding.
You might also consider camping or a 3-4 night mini-honeymoon in a big city near you, which will allow you to stay in a nice hotel, see a show or something similar.

Find an out of the way bed and breakfast near where you are. Book a suite for a weekend...or the whole week, depending on the prices. Pick a spot near a lake or something if you're both athletic. If not, opt for a spa-like location, where you can relax together. Make sure there will be ample 'alone time' as that is what the honeymoon is ALL ABOUT!!

My fiance and I are going to Cancun Mexico on the Riviera Maya. We booked through Apple Vacations and it's costing us $1400 - all inclusive (airfare, hotel, meals, drinks, activities, tours and gratuity). We are staying 4 nights, 5 days. However, if we would have stayed one less night, the price would have been $989. They are running this deal I believe for a little while now, so you should check them out online. Perhaps they may have something else besides Cancun that would interest you and be in your price range. Also, we were able to put down a deposit and make monthly payments (we are getting married in September so we have some time to pay it off). So check it out, perhaps it will work for you. Good luck and congrats.

if you enjoy camping, a nice hike in the mountains and setting a tent at a beautiful private space would be wonderful and romantic- you can watch the sunrise and kiss in the sunset. It's also an inexpensive option if you already have the gear.
another option would be to travel accross the county go to your favorite places and make memories together in those places. You can go somewhere new each day or everyother day.

First wedding ceremony - I went to Sandals Ocho Rios for 8 days and it replaced into remarkable. It value approximately $5000 in 2000. a lot of issues to do and each little thing replaced into coated. 2nd time around - some thing interior the U. S.. we are thinking St. Augustine or the Florida Keys. possibly a spa retreat in Arizona. there is plenty to do... i think of that with the 8k funds you have you will possibly desire to have a large style of pliability.

It's off season in Barbados. Get some cheap flights and stay at the Bresmay Hotel or perhaps you can find a package. You can drink the water the beach is lovely and the food is reasonable.

It's hard to help you, when we don't know what area of the country you're from. 1,000 is a decent amount... depending on what you like or don't like and how long you want to be gone.
