Dr. Michel Obeid of Lebanon discovers major cancer drug
The medication that he discovered was able to destroy about 90 % of the cancerous cells after a couple of weeks of treatment and the remaining 10% was nearly cancer free.
Do you think, this young doctor would be able to make it a record for HIM discovering the medication, and not wait for another person to take his idea and make it someone else's "Creation."
It happened many times before...especially to non-Americans.

Beirut & Paris - Lebanese Medical student Michel Obeid held a news conference at the National Council for Scientific Research in Beirut to talk about the medication he discovered few months back in France to treat cancer patients .
He said the medication works on activation of the immune system , so it detects cancerous cells and destroys them. The medication that he discovered was able to destroy about 90 % of the cancerous cells after a couple of weeks of treatment and the remaining 10% was nearly cancer free.
Under the title "We did not lose the war against cancer," Obeid explained his findings to a crowd of doctors and scientists .
He demonstrated how our immunity system plays a significant role in overcoming all diseases and how chemical drugs play a secondary role. Obeid explained that cancer cells have the capability of hiding away from the immunity system and this keeps the disease hidden in our body.

So the solution, Obeid continued, does not lie in chemotherapy as practiced today in hospitals across the world, but in enabling our immunity system to play the greater role of detecting the tumor and eliminating it.
The research of his findings proved effective after carrying out tests on some 5000 mice he said.
Obeid said that the new treatment is a combination of a protein called Calreticulin a drug which he did not disclose for the time being. The new drug had no side effects on the tested mice nor did it cause any loss of weight.

Thank you for this news flash, I was not aware of the good doctor.
The research of his findings proved effective after carrying out tests on some 5000 mice.
Obeid will soon start experimenting with human beings as soon as he secures the needed funding and the registration of the patents .
I will stay tuned. Inasmuch as he is securing patents, I would think that he will get credit for his discoveries.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. I think the answer resides in the people. The more people to champion the cause, the more likely movement will be made towards a cure. THere is a role for everyone. 1. Invest in the future. The children of today are the hope for tomorrow. 2. Advocate for change. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and other cancer organization make it easy for you to email letters to your elected officials. If a lot of emails arrive on a cancer issue, you bet they will look at it. Asking questions like this, while general in nature, help people start thinking about what they can do. 3. Participate in a fundraising event hosted by a cancer organization. Many of them have benefits to the participant as well as the patients. 4. Donate to a cancer organization. I know there are a lot of worthy causes competing with what little funds we have (for some us), but moeny, time & resources are all commodities for non-profits. 5. Evangelize. Tell the people around you to get involved as well. They can support your efforts, join you in your fight or just spread the word. No ask, no get. If more people took on one role above, if more celebs helped heighten the awareness & specifically called people to action, if one politician took a stand, i think we would be surprized at what we could accomplish. "Complacency yields failure, so do something! Because the scary thing about cancer is that it could be you or someone you love." JNRism

What type of cancer?
Cancer isn't a specific disease. Different types of cancer have different causes, pathology and treatments.
Cancers can be caused by viruses, unfortunate genetics, chemicals and other etiologies. What works to cure one type of cancer may not have the slightest effect on any other type. The only thing all the types have in common is that they are defined as an abnormal/non-regulated overgrowth of cells.
Contrary to popular thought, there will be no single "Cure For Cancer".... rather many different treatments for the many different diseases that make up the disease category "cancer". An analogy is this... saying you've found a Cure For Cancer is like saying you've found a Cure for Infection. Which infection? There are hundreds, all with different causes.
Having said all that... hopefully this doc really did find a treatment that works for at whatever type of cancer he's working on. Likely his research was funded by either a government or pharmaceutical company and the rights to the treatment don't directly belong to him in the first place. There aren't any doctors who sit around and "invent" cures for disease in their office lab, despite what you may see in the movies.

Research papers being promoted as cures to human cancer happen all the time. The last major hype was for DCA. While a few of these have developed into cancer treatments (i.e. anti-angiogenesis drugs like Avastin, Erbitux, etc.), none have proven to be a cure.
Cancer is not one disease. Each set of genetic mutations causing cancer plus the location of origin is a specific disease. Most of these "cures" address a cancer support mechanism not the actual cause of the cancer (the mutated genes).
In my opinion, cures for specific cancers will be developed over time. Also, I feel cures can only developed by addressing the root cause (oncogenes and/or their oncoprotein products).
In other words, this is hype not substance.

The traditional chemoteraphy does the same, in fact it has to do it, around the 14th day of chemo your body has to be clean from cancer cells in about 90% (in leukemia treatments).

Well, he'll be most rich and famous person in the world.
As soon as he proves this, writes it up, gets it repeated and reviewed, and published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.
I won't hold my breath.
