Vegas wedding?

I hear you can get married in vegas pretty cheap. Stay at the stratosphere or some cheaper hotel like that and it wouldn't cost you to much i dont think.

Almost 14 years ago I got married...we were broke, still in college.

Here is what we did...
Got married at home in our yard
Had a friend take the pictures and do a video tape
We did the food ourselves with help from friends
Kept the whole thing down to 50 guests
Bought my dress off the rack at 75 percent off
I had a friend who had worked for a florist do my flowers
Made a simple punch
Served beer and wine
Rented a pretty arch from a party store, draped silk flowers over it, served as our altar.
Used silk flowers instead of real flowers

Those are some of the things I remember...it all came out fine..everyone had a fantastic time. We saved a lot of money just by having the wedding and reception at home.

I also lucked out by shopping at discount places like big lots and home goods for wine glasses and punch glasses...I got glass punch cups for 14 cents each at one discount store! Also friends and family may be willing to let you borrow things like table clothes, dishes etc if you decide to do something like a home wedding.

Keep you eyes and mind open and you can find all sorts of ways to cut costs and still have a stunning wedding!!

Best wishes.

This year? When?
If you do alot otf the leg work you can have a pretty decent wedding. And if you recruit family & friends to help all the better.
You need to set a budget & work with those parameters. Then decide with your fiance what you HAVE to have to make this 'your' wedding.
The reception is the costliest, so try to come up with something that you like. A brunch, cake & punch reception, a pot-luck dinner, hor's douveres & light cocktails......

To find an officiant type into Yahoo your city, state & wedding officiant (no 's' on the end) You will have a few to choose from, usually on the 2nd page. The larger bridal sites seem to get top billing. If you do go to the bridal sites, please visit the site of someone you think you might like. Those bridal sites make vendors & officiants pay for your contact info so you may not hear back from someone you'd hoped.

When I got married I had nothing saved. We dressed it down...got married in the hall, chose a friend of the family to cater and dj, and the cake was a deal too. Our guest list-around 100-120. They all had a blast! It's the party, not the frills. I have gone to some suck weddings that cost a mint and some great ones that were not your conventional country club extravaganzas. Good Luck.

I say go with the civil service too with friends and family invited over afterwards for a celebration. I started out planning a backyard wedding for May '07 and by the time you include costs for cake, decorations, etc you've spent quite a little bundle and that's with alot of things thrown in for free such as photography, preacher, tables and chairs, help with the food for the reception, etc. It all adds up real quick!!
You could send out invitations for a potluck reception after your civil ceremony and still enjoy the love and fellowship of your family and friends helping to celebrate your wedding day.
Best wishes for a happy wedding day!

You still got time to think b'cos those bills r going to further pile up after the wedding. Unless u have any specific religious taboos, simply go the marriage registrars office with her & maybe 2 friends, complete the basic formalities of getting married & later u can take those friends out for a burger (I hope u r not that broke)

For a low cost reception you can have it at a restaurant - a friend did this a couple years ago. there were about 50 people and we were all in a big room and had two options for the main course and had a nice time eating together and chatting. then we had the cake and listened to music - it was actually very nice and only cost them $300.

you could do it in a park or some were out side that usally doesn't cost anything or if you are a member of a church(or become one wink wink) it's free to use their church. receptions at fire halls and banquet halls are very nice if you can work( or know of someone) who can work a glue gun. it will save you lots of time. computers can print out really nice invites, save a dates, seating cards, programs. all under 50 bucks. use fake flowers for everything but yours. look for silk flower warhouses. they have come sooo far in that buisness they all look sooo real! did all mine under 200$ even flower girl headbands. Candle favors are really nice, you can get utility candle on line for like 50 cents a peice and doll them up with ribbion. make you attendents gifts, necklaces ear rings. And for food try BBQ i mean real BBQ it sound i little trash but it's reall not you can feed alot of people cheap with a whole pig. if it's in a park setting it would be informal but it will still be fun for every one! try beauty school for hair and make up, and car clubs for transport. hope this helps

you can always just go to the court house and then have a nice reception. then go on a honeymoon. and trust me it doesn't matter how much you pay for a wedding. i have had both paid for my own and a court house wedding. and of course the one that didn't work out was the one we paid a fortune for, so it doesn't matter how you get married just that you did.
