Alright, so i posted a question asking if people thought this guy liked me. And pretty much everyone said he did but he was shy. But i mean i'm still iffy, it doesn't even feel like he likes me as a friend cuz he barely says a word.
If a guy likes a girl why would he not talk to her? or just mumble responses? Or not look in my eyes?
I mean...if you like a girl, why not try and be her friend?
I try to talk to him, and i smile, but he goes quiet (i've been told that he's very talkative and cocky, then why I come around hes shy and quiet) is that a good sign?
I simply don't get it....help?

well. for starters i'm going to just say that i'm a 15 year old guy so don't count on me to have a lot of experiance as i'm the unattractive shy type, but anyway most guys are just shy, and extremely scared of rejection esp. if they're like me and have never had a girlfriend and everytime they like a girl they get shot down.

Because it's obvious. We are all shy of rejection guys & girls. Well some people can be so shy they can't even talk to them at all. (my sister for example. Lol.) Yes it is a good sign, if he talks with other people and goes shy and quiet he has a thing for you. Trust me, the same thing is going on with me. The other answers were right, he was shy and still is. Best of luck with him. ♥

You should ask him out and see how shy he is in a one on one setting, i bet he opens up a little bit and is more talkative.

You shouldn't waste your time with someone like that. What would probably be the best thing to do is don't show this person any attention and see what happens. If he notices that your no longer paying attention to him, then ask him why he cares. Or simply ask him why is he so quiet when you are around him.

i think you should ask him if he likes you... he is shy so the only way to get an answer is to beat it out of him (not literally)
some guys are so shy that even around girls they like... they have this anxiety.. but in your case.. they say hes cocky and talkative.. so he either may just be shy around girls he likes.. or hes got something against you

Haha! Sounds like this guy is gaga over you! He's probably feeling very insecure (many cocky guys really are). Get a look in his eyes....do his pupils dilate when he sees you?
Or even worse (for him) does he blush? I think he's being all quiet coz he doesn't want to look like a fool, but he might just be a fool in love......

looks like u have to take the initiative only if u are also really interested in him... it's kind of neat that he is not being cocky with u and so perhaps he wishes to give u a better impression of himself by not acting cocky... he's just trying to figure out how to work it with u anyway, so either be patient or take the steps to go out with him and u two can figure out if u want a relationship, friendship or otherwise....

He might be very insecure, maybe he feels like he is going to say something stupid, and you will think less of him. Chances are he is scared he will mess things up between you. Best advice I can give you, is ask him whats going on, ask him if he likes being around you, and if he does why doesnt he talk to you. You wont know for sure whats up until you ask.

My dear, i think this guy didn't loves you because if he really love you, he suppose have said something as somebody who is dear to him. The reason i said this is that when a guy i don't have interest in approaches me, i will not dear to look into his eyes talk of saying a word to him. Which means that i,m not interest in any relationship with him. Period!

he might be cocky and talkative to others, but he can't muster the same atitude when you're around. because he really likes you and he feels he has to be in a good behavior so you would like him. remember not every guy has the 'balls' to walk up to a girl and tell her how he feels about her.
