Grow to pro basketball hoop??Argument!!?

Fisher price has a new grow to pro basketball hoop. I told my boyfriend that we should get it for our kid. He said that since it is $40 we should try to find one used. I told him that this type of toy has not been out very long maybe just a few years. He claims that he has seen that type of toy over 5 years ago. Which one os us is right?????

My oldest had something like that when he turned 2 or 3 (he is 6 now). So i believe it has been out for a while. they may have made a newer version. but i believe it is essentially the same thing. Although i am not positive.
