I am smart, funny, and pretty, but I've never been on a date. I'm in college, and I don't get it. I'll have great conversation with guys I like, but they never initiate anything. Then they'll go for girls who aren't very smart and are kind of shallow. Quite frankly, I'm perplexed. I love trying new things--I have exciting goals for my life--and I'm pretty nice. I work out a lot, but at the same time appreciate deep thought/convos. Am I too scary? What am I doing wrong?

You need to find smarter guys.
A really smart guy would love to find someone like you.
Start hanging around the engineering or math or language buildings in your campus.
You are marketing yourself incorrectly. The guys you are seeking want the cheerleader type, because they are still in high school in their mind, only the girls are now more openly sexual, so they go for the same types in high school, except everyone is 20 and a partier, now.
Go to the library. The smarter people will be there, studying.
Don't interfere, just sit down next to someone studying, that is just kind of reading. If a conversation happens, let it happen.
After maybe talking a bit, say, "Damn, I'm hungry. Do you like pizza?" and go get a pizza at the cafeteria or whatever.
Hook up with some of the less Geeky D&D players. (they do exist, I'm a witness). Usually Friday nights, in a math or sciences building, after 6 PM. Say you want to learn to play.
You might like it, you might not but you'll definitely get some attention.
Start an Exciting Goals club.
Join some clubs that smarter people will be in.

You sound like a great girl if you are in the Lubbock, Texas area I would love to date you. Beyond that guys are dumb. They always go for the one that is so wrong for them. I know was really screwed over by a women all my friends and family told me not to be with. I didn't listen and I regret it, however, since then I have realized what kind of women I want to be with. Sometimes being intelligent and funny makes a great friend, but being a bit sensual and open minded makes a great date. Sensuality does not necessarily mean getting into sex and guys rarely get intimidated by a lady who is intelligent but open-minded.

Are you acting, talking, moving, dressing, etc in a sexy way? Reveal you assets in a sly way. Make it so a view only occurs when you let it and it only is seen by the guy you want to see it. Show off your charms a bit. Wear make-up and a little jewelry. Wear sexy shoes.

they probably just think you are TOO great for them. it's weird that is how it works sometimes.. they might think you are taken since you are so great, or they just get scared because you seem so great that they bail because they think you're too good for them.. it's weird and doesn't make sense. YOU do nothing wrong.. seriously.. you're Not scary.. you just intimidate them.
