One major component of your resting metabolic rate is your lean mass because it needs calories to stay alive.
The best way to increase your resting metabolic rate is to increase your lean mass with weight lifting. This is why (contrary to popular belief), weight lifting is actually more effective than cardio for getting leaner.
To keep your metabolism elevated, eat 6 small meals instead of 3 big meals. Also, stay hydrated.
Avoid actions that deplete your lean mass such as starvation which can be caused by: Skipping meals, eating meals that are deficient in either carbohydrates and protein.
Also, measure your progress with a measuring tape instead of a scale.

I'll tell you how to speed things up. But you have to listen and do. First off start a low sodium, no or low sugar diet. Eat raw fruits and veggies. Don't over eat, one portion size only. Don't eat late at night. Only eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Manage to get a snack during the afternoon such as grapefruit. Drink water only or gatorade only for beverages. Don't ever eat fastfood, tv dinners or pizza and pop, beer, liqiuor is bad. Carbs are ok, you need them for energy, such as pasta but stay light on it! Stay discipline on what you eat. Do atleast 45 minutes of cardio everyday (run,walk,cycle) make sure you work hard sweat-sweat. Twitching and walking burns calories. Stay motivated and think healthy, you'll notice it in 3 weeks the weight loss & intelligence, oh if you want rock hard body then do more cardio and lift light weights. Thats all good luck!!! stay focused. Gradually work your way into working out though, thats if you haven't done it in a long time. Then gradually up the reps and cardio time. formula to lean mean = diet + cardio

Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
Dont eat until you're full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.

take via viente it is a whole food product. basically what it does is make your body work at peak performance. with just 2 to 3 oz twice daily it can help you lose weight and many other great things.( gives you great natrual energy,sleep better at night, gets rid of aches and pains, ect)
