I have just started dating a guy who is a Firefighter and his schedule is really hectic. he has a full time job and is putting himself throught firefighter school. but this situation is only temporaty. should i say we take it slow and not worry about making too much of a commitment to this. i know i like him and he makes my day when he calls but, there is only so much effort i can put into this and not get anthing in return. he gives me all he can but i also dont want him to think i am a door mat

You aren't waiting for him. Waiting for him involves him being gone... what you've got there is a stressed out male who has less time to focus on a girlfriend... but don't frame it in terms of "waiting for him".

The last time I checked, fire fighter training takes about a year. If you want to suck it up for that time and he's also into you (and shows it), I'd say go for it. But if he's not bothering to make the effort to keep you around, drop him... it's a pre-emptive strike for when he graduates, finds he has time on his hands, and decides to seek out someone who he is willing to work for. All relationships are two-sided, and being in firefighting school is not an excuse to abandon your partner.

wow.....u lucky girl...firefighters are hot! dont let a job come between you....as you said this is only temporary and im sure that if he didnt really wanna give ur relationship a go then he would have said screw it already because it sounds like his plate is full at the moment......but the fact that he still manages to call you means that despite his busy schedule YOU ARE ON HIS MIND.....im sure things will improve when his job demands arent as high.....when this happens you can have more time to spend together one on one

if you loved him you would stay with him. and hes doin the best he can do. maybe to make his and your life better in the future. if you see it going somewhere, stay with him. if you dont think that any thing really serious will come out of it then you should be able to leave him with out regrets.

good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
