I live in Iceland and I can give you some examples of prices.
One bus ticket in Reykjavík costs 280 kr. (around 4 USD). If you plan to use public transport a lot it is cheaper to buy a card with 11 tickets for 2500 kr., then each ticket costs 227 kr. (3.4 USD). In the city Akureyri public transport is for free.
If you want to try out the warm swimming pools in Reykjavík then the entrance fee is 350 kr. (5.2 USD) and you can use the pool for as long as you want within the opening hours. If you buy a pre-paid card for 10 entries the price is just 2200 kr. (3.3 USD per entry). You can use the same card in any swimming pool in Reykjavík if you feel like trying out different ones.
A 6" sub at a Subway restaurant costs from 369 kr. (5.5 USD) and a 12" sub costs from 599 kr. (8.9 USD).
The answerer above me mentioned some very expensive pizza. I have never heard of such an expensive pizza here and I suspect the information is wrong. You can buy a 16" margarita pizza for 1000 kr. (around 15 USD). The more stuff you want on the pizza the more expensive it gets, but the price rarely goes over 2000 kr. (30 USD) for a 16" pizza.
A bottle of water (two litres) costs around 90 kr. (1.3 USD) in supermarkets. You can get a large bread for around 175 kr. (2.6 USD). Basically if you will be travelling on a tight budget I recommend that you buy food in supermarkets rather than eat in restaurants all the time. Restaurants in Iceland are quite expensive, but you can find reasonably priced stuff in supermarkets (the Bonus supermarket chain is the cheapest but has less variety than other chains).
Alcohol is very expensive in Iceland. Most people here buy drinks in some liquor store and drink at parties before hitting the clubs, because the prices in the clubs are insane. If you plan to go clubbing keep in mind that Icelanders show up at clubs very late, usually after 11 pm, so don't be surprised if the clubs seem kind of lifeless before that time.
As for accommodation then hostels are a lot cheaper than hotels and I think the hostels in Iceland are generally good.
I hope this information is helpful.

I met a backpacker who had just been to Iceland. he said prices were disgustingly expensive.. he ordered a pizza after arriving from the airport bc it said free delivery.. turned out to be 30 pounds... which is like 60 US.
I think he also said a mixed drink was something like 6-10 pounds (12-20 US dollars) but i can't be 100% sure of that one.
