There are several grades of acne; even one pimple is considered acne, so it really depends whether you have it on one particular area, or several. Depending on the location of the breakouts/comedones/milia, there are signs of internal and external issues, i.e, the chin and jaw area are ruled by the reproductive system, which of course is hormonal. It's best to consult an accredited esthetician or dermatologist. There is no 'cure' for acne, it's ALL maintenance.

Sometimes skin can become dimpled and scarred- I think that is a sign of severe acne. Only some people have severe acne, and if you do, a dermatologist is a great help in getting rid of it! Good luck. :)

there are 4 general levels of acne skin. the highest is where you have severe swelling and redness with severe and large pustule (puss).
the lowest is just where you have a spot here and there not aggrivating.

I think any acne is severe and should be treated. See your dermotologist, if you feel uncomfortable, take care of it asap.
Best Wishes.
