Ordinarily I have seen the expression "true love" to refer to relationships on the material plane. But, isn't God's love true love too?

Thanks for all the help answering this question.

From the Veda (Knowledge) we know that there are three goals,
1. Sambandha -establish relationship with God,
2. Abidheya - act on that relationship, spiritual practices, and
3. Prayojana - Love of God.

In order to practically demonstrate what Love of God is, Lord Jesus Christ, Hazrat Mohammed, Ramanuja, Madhva and various other messengers of God shown the ways and means.

The culmination of Love of God, personified in the form of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, was exhibited, five hundred years back. He also declared, Prema Pum artho mahan, the Love of God is the topmost or ultimate goal.

Of course, one cannot artificially claim to Love God. First one has to have faith in God and then associate with persons who have faith. In their company one can practice spiritual life which will purify one's existence resulting in further steadiness in the spiritual practices. As a result one relishes and becomes attached to God which will open up the rays of Love God and finally one will manifest Love of God.

Materially, one simply says Love, mistaking the flickering sensual pleasure as Love. Real love enduring the test of time and is eternal in relationship with real and eternal Lord.

Who is "people" and "they?" When *you* love your beloved, do any explanations seem necessary? Don't you have an experience of love? All you can say about love is: Love is. (nothing to do with god, and god isn't "pure love." that's just made up stuff) Edit: first time I got to thumbs-up @Jack, and @Austin, why so cynical dude?

The Lord said that charity is "the pure love of Christ," that which is "most joyous to the soul," "the greatest of all the gifts of God,""perfect" and "everlasting." I would say that God's love is true.

True love would mean love unconditional. No threat of punishment or any other condition would need to be met in order to receive it. However, in order to evolve spiritually one would need to learn to love others unconditionally as well.

God's love is more than pure.It is CONCENTRATED. He will never hate ya'(pardon the slang)he will love you more than your parents(Though I am sure your parents love you very much.)True love is love that God planned.I should know my mom has been married 5,I repeat 5 times.

God's love is perfect. Our love is more like brotherly love.

I did my homework and I have decided to follow Jesus. The greatest commandment is to love God and one another. : )

i don't know that a human is capable of pure love, but i guess it depends on how you define "pure love".
