I was looking at a district court record site and found someone I knew that had a violation that said "DUS - Traffic" and paid a $250 fine.

What does that mean? I'm curious.

Thanks!

Norskeye...thanks for the detailed explanation, but I do want to clarify, it wasn't ME...it truly was someone I knew...if it was me, I don't think I'd have to ask what it meant. haha *smiles*

DUS means Driving while Under Suspension. Evidently their driving privledges were suspended. Until they become a privledged driver and pay their fines, if caught driving again, they could spend some time in jail. It means they were driving in traffic, while under suspension. Not good !! So sorry if you thought I meant it was you. I apologize for directing it to you. God bless !!

Driving (While) Under Suspension is a moving violation or traffic offense.

To respond to the comment "what that has to do with traffic.."
well...you have to be driving on a suspended license to get the ticket in the first place!

Best wishes!

It stands for Driving Under Suspension. Your friend was driving with a suspended license.

DUS is Driving Under Suspension. What "traffic" has to do with it, I don't know.

**EDIT: KC V, the word "driving" already says it all. So why is the word "traffic" necessary? Why not just "DUS"?
