Well if she has no interest in you, then she has no interest in you. Taking up Irish dancing probably wouldn't change her mind. Find a better girl for yourself man.

If the Irish girl and the American guy thought that way about each other. It all depends on how strong the couple are. If it's long distance, of course it's going to be testing. But it will determine the success of the relationship. As for two different countries I doubt there would be a culture clash. Irish and American cultures are similar. Any differences between the two are likely to spark interest.

Her dancing probably doesn't affect her social life that much. Just get to know her, and at least be friends with her at first (you can't just randomly go up to her and ask her out if you guys don't even know each other). Let your personality shine through, and discover her personality too. Maybe you'll find that she wasn't as amazing as you thought she was, or she's even more amazing than ever. If you're thinking the second thought, you should start flirting with her a little, like smiling at her more and blushing sometimes when you guys make eye contact. This will let her know you might like her. Then, the only thing you can do is take a chance and ask her out! I'm sure you'll do fine.

Well if you want her to go out with you then you have to get her to notice you. It would be really helpful if you did something that impressed her. Now before you take up irish dancing or xtreme freestyle biking to turn her head learn a little bit about what really impresses a girl. Some of it is so simple anyone could do it. Little details like good hygiene and having your clothes match mean a lot more to ladies than guys could ever understand. Ladies also like a man that is confident and a little bit take control. This is touchy subject because it is easy to overdue it. They want a man to act like a man but they don't want him to be a pig. Here is a good rule of thumb. If you ask her what she wants to do this weekend and she says that she does not know make a decision. Don't leave it up in the air. If you have a female relative or friend don't be afraid to ask her up for a little advice. As for getting her attention, well keep it simple. I once took a cooking class so I could get next to a girl once. You could just try talking to her. Worse case scenario she might shoot you down, but you have to start talking to them to build up that confidence. Good luck

Send her (anonymously) a 10 pound bag of potatoes once a week. No note. Just let her wonder. After a few times with the potatoes put a pint of whiskey in the bag.
The next day ask her if she'd like to have dinner. Tell her you're having chips and Chivas. She'll know you're her secret admirer and she'll also know you're bold. She may think you're wierd at first. She may kick you with a Highland Fling.
Who knows? She will notice you, though. Good luck.

If she has no interest in you, why are you thinking about dating her? Why don't you find someone that you are interested in who is interested in you too?
To answer your question though, what difference does it make if she is a competitive dancer or not? Treat her like you would treat any other girl and be glad that you know something about her that you can talk about.

She has no interest in you. You said it yourself, so forget it. It won't happen unless she wants it to happen too. Besides, you're too young to worry about it. Trust me, you'll find a lot of girls out there after you get done with school.
