The cake would not cause the stomach flu. If the cake had some sort of creme filling, or whipped cream frosting that should have been refrigerated because it contained eggs, and it was left out for 4 days, there's a possibility they could have food poisoning. However, from what I've been hearing, so many people have that stomach virus and it's very contagious.
Hopefully everyone will settle down within the next day to at least be able to drink a few clear liquids.
You say you have the flu because you are a germaphobe; I"m not sure what you mean by that. Most people that are germaphobes do everything in their power to avoid germs, so they don't get sick as often.

The stomach flu is not actually the flu it is a norovirus. And it can take anywhere from 4 hours to 2 days to take affect on a human. It sounds like you have plain old food poising. Remember to stay hydrated. The stomach flu only last a couple of hours to a day in a half. Food poisoning can last for several days. The common flu is caused by a virus.
