i've heard this guy say remarkably nice things about me and i know he likes me but when hes around me he's totally insensitive, obnoxious, and rude. should i give him a chance?

hes probly tryin to show off. give him a chance to be alone with you maybe a date to teh movies or dinner. if hes nice and it works great. WARNING... if he is nice and then infront of other people is rude again tell himthats not gonna work and if he likes you to act like it.. he doesnt need to be immature to impress people

It might be nerves. I know a lot of guys that get flustered and nervous around females they like and end up coming off as total jerks. Do you know what kind of person he is when he isn't around you? Does he have a reputation for being obnoxious? If he seems to be a genuinely nice guy, but just acts like that around you, I would give him a chance and get to know him so he can show his true colors. If he has a reputation for being a jerk, forget it. I don't care how much a guy likes you or what he says a leopard won't change his spots.

Basically u have to ask urself the question if u really want that type of guy in your life! He might be great and talk about u nicely but if he is mean to u in person that could get annoying pretty fast! I mean thats how some guys show emotions, they get nervous and try to act cool! If you like him give him a chance but if u get annoyed with what he says I would say dont b/c that can only lead to worse things!! Talk to him about it, ask him why he is so mean or insensitive to u! You could try telling him (in a nice way) that you feel what he is saying or doing is rude. Something like, "You probably don't know this, but I think when people do XYZ, it's not really polite, so I'd rather you didn't do it." If he responds in a positive way (stops doing XYZ, apologizes, etc), then give him a chance. If he doesn't (gets mad or makes fun of you, continues doing XYZ, etc), then don't. Hope this helps.

I think you should let fate take its toll...if you are meant to be then some how the both of you will connect...In the mean time you can also send signs of interest....As for his absurd behaviour it just probably because he really likes you and either doesn't want to admit to it or doesn't know how to handle his feelings and the situation because ha can probably sense you like him too.. I am sure you will get him in the end!!!!!! Good luck babe

Yeah, why not?
Just comment if he says something you disagree with or dislike. You could point out the fact that's it's rude, or just plain: "I disagree." Then follow it up with why you think that way.
I don't think you know him that well, so give him a chance, 'till you really do know him better. Don't judge a book by its cover?

He's just nervous b/c he's soo into you and is afraid of being hurt or rejected by you. So his "attitude" is a defense mechanism.
Come straight forward w/ him, ask him how he feels. And if the "attitude" continues then he's just an @ss but I highly doubt that.

Never give him the time of day because he does not show how nice when he is around you then predict what would happen if you dated him.
