I would like to go into intelligence. If I went army I might be an army ranger. I can't decide. Which one is better?

I went to MEPS about 1 month ago. Air Force people looked very decent and smart, same with Navy people. Marines looked like your typical high school jock but were also cool as hell. But Army and Army National Guard, man, I really felt bad for these kids, some of them didn't really seem to understand what they were getting themselves into. Plus I was with this one Army kid who got all freaked out when I told him that they made you read a paragraph, lol, I'm pretty sure he could barely read.
You should consider the Air Force.

The Army has more boats than the Navy, not ships. The Army has 50 ships total. The Army has more aircraft than the Air Force, not more planes (it's the whole helicopter thing). And as far as opportunities - the Navy offers as much or more than the Army. Heck, about the only thing the Navy doesn't offer is farming and ranching. Navy intelligence is a relatively small community with limited advancement potential. However, the cryptological technicians make a pretty tidy sum in the way of bonuses, etc.

HAHA!!! If you want intelligence you don't want to go Army Ranger. Just think of it this way, if you have brawn and want to use that join the Army or Marines. If you have brains and want to use that then join the Air Force or Navy. If you are looking for the best quality of life join the Air Force, it is like a 9-5 job. If you want to be on a ship join the Navy, that is really the only reason you should join the Navy, if you love the water. If you want to be fighting and in the trenches join the Army or Marines.

Join the Army, your chances are better at getting into intelligence and also be a Ranger. You will have to be selected as a candidate for both. You need the brains and the brawn to do both. It can be done. The Navy does have an intelligence group, not nearly as big as the Army's. If you want a tough challenge, try out for the Seal Team, doesn't look to hard! and if you believe that! Hey Good luck

listen to me and listen good. the army is the biggest branch of service, they have more ships than the navy and more planes than the airforce. i spent 4 years in the marines and 4 in the army. the army has waaaay more opportunities than the navy. if you go in the navy you could get stuck on a ship, and trust me that suuuuucks i have been there.. go talk to both recruiters before you do anything, but in my advice 100% army. especially if you want some good training like the rangers.

If you're really interested in intelligence, Navy or Air Farce (er, Force) are your best choices. Unless you have some extraordinary ability we don't know about, don't count on getting into Rangers - they're pretty picky. Good luck wherever you go, and thanks for serving.

See which one offers you the better deal, I am partial to the ARMY (hooray), but you should see what job and bonus each has to offer and take the one that is most suited to what you want to do. Make sure you sign up for the GI Bill

Both are good. So to help you decide, please talk with both an Army and Navy recruiter (be sure not to sign anything yet), and ask them about it, or better yet, ask them if they culd arrange for someone in intelligence in their branches to come to the recruiter office, and talk with you about it. Then, compare. I wish you the best. Take care.

First off, it is a wonderful thing that you are willing to serve our great nation and help defend it. I commend you for this and appreciate your future service.

You should thoroughly research the different branches of the government and see what they have to offer. Go on-line and/or go visit your local recruitment offices.

Good luck and god bless you.
