Why are we involved in so many things of this world, that are not glorifying God? We cannot be lukewarm as the author of revelations writes. We are not taking our faith serious and think that we are giving glory to God through our acts of unrighteousness. We have been called to be set apart for the purpose of the cross. Got some advice?

This question is directed to Christians, so if you are not. I would appreciate your silence on this matter.

How is it remotely righteous to silence yourself to thoughtful replies?

Here's some advice: Live your life righteously and you won't have to worry about critique. Separate yourself from the world and from those within it by thinking you're better than them, and you fall victim to hubris. That doesn't glorify anything - be it your own intelligence, or your faith.

As Christians, yes we should stand for purity, holiness, and righteousness. We are called to be in the world, but not of the world. But many Christians today don't seem to have any desire to for purity, holiness and righteousness. They think that because they said a prayer and were baptized that they are saved, and can go on living in a lifestyle of sin. Truth is, when we are truly saved, when we are born again, it is fulfilled prophecy in Ezekiel 36:26,27 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." That is pretty much just saying that when we are born again God gives us a new heart with new desires. Desires to do His will and keep his commandments. Desires to be pure, holy and righteous. My advice for Christians who have these desires but don't know how to go about it would be to read your Bible everyday, pray regularly, obey God. Don't forget the Great Commission either (another one of God's commands for us Christians). But I won't get on that soapbox right now. I hope this is helpful.

I take my faith serious, but you are correct. The so-called "faith" of many people nowadays is disgusting. Fortunately, I try to be better.

Reminds me of a funny, but sad, story. We were in another town, and went to church. We watched as an alter server, aroudn 14, ate in front of the altar: first pulling out a banana, then a sandwich, then a juice box....
Is that a spiritually fullfilling way of celebrating Mass? Without fasting 1 hour before Communion?

yeah. and I think you mean "we are NOT giving glory to God throughour acts of unrighteousness".

I guess the problem for a lot of us is that when we TRY to stand up for purity, holiness and righteousness, we're ridiculed, which tends to hurt some of us. but we should still stay steadfast

People don't see worldly pleasure as sin. In general, people who do not know Jesus Christ as their Saviour, do not understand that anything they set up between or before God is an idol. America has two main idols right now. Sport and entertainment. People in general, who do not accept Jesus Christ, will die in their sin, thus finding themselves eternally separated from God in a place of torment. Everyone who ends up in this place becomes a bible believer two seconds after arriving. The wages of sin (Romans 6:23) is not hell, the wages of sin death. An eternal death (separation) from the presence of God.

To answer the second question...Hebrews 12:14, states that without HOLINESS we shall not see the Lord. People pray to God but if they ask amiss they are not heard. Psalm 66:18 "If I regard iniquity (sin) in my heart, The Lord will not hear me." John 9:31 "Now we know that God heareth not sinners; but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth His will, him he heareth." The prayer that God wants to hear from sinners is one of repentance.

We are called out of the world to be followers of Christ, disciples of Christ, not disciples of the world. We are to be kept holy as God is Holy. I think you're on the right track. Good question!

Without it we cannot see God. Although Christianity is a progression, we must strive to live pleasing to God and allow our members/bodies to be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, because it is our reasonable service.

We should use Jesus as a model until we can truly say that, "We have the mind of Christ" 1 Corinthians 2:16

Yes, of course! Unfortunately we are all sinful, and no one is perfect. We will attain that perfection when we get to Heaven.
