There is actually no such disease as the stomach flu although people commonly use this phrase. Influenza virus infects the respiratory tract (lungs). You have a viral or bacterial infection and should go see a doctor. There are quite a few different microbes that can cause these symptoms. The dr can prescribe medications that will help with the diarrhea and vomiting (my husband had exactly the same symptoms on a recent vacation and the anti-vomiting, anti-diarrheal meds really helped him). Most of these gastrointestinal infections are self-limiting and will go away within a week if you rest and try to keep yourself hydrated (sip a small amount of water or gatorade every 10 minutes, rather than taking a large drink). The mucus is your body's response to the infection. You can't really get rid of it easily; it will eventually go away when you resole the infection.

It sounds like you do have the darn flu and that's a pain in the butt.drink sprite or 7up and that will usually help with the stomach and calm it down so not to throw up.try to eat some chicken noodle soup and crackers as these things will help with the sickness of throwing up..You need to get lots of rest also,,,hopefully you'll be well in a few more days,,,,,,,,LOL

Didja know......80% of all "stomach flu" is actually a mild case of food poisoning?
Wash your hands more (especially after bathroom use), cook food thoroughly, reheat to a proper temp (180F) and NEVER allow raw meat or its juices to touch food that won't be cooked (like salad).
If the diarrhea or vomit EVER has blood in it.....go to hospital ASAP!!!!

Take a nice hot shower to loosen up the mucus and then try blowing it out. Other wise it has to run it's course. I had it last week and ate freeze pops for 2 days.

Norovirus may be very disagreeable given that of the vomiting and diarrhoea which accompanies the top temperatures, nevertheless it customarily best lasts 2 days in anybody who's or else healthful. Some of the opposite traces may also be beautiful devastating - witness the loss of life toll in 1919 - given that the pulmonary process is customarily worried.

Camomile tea clear everything up and leaves your body nice and relaxed, make sure you drink it really hot because thats what clears everything up and clears the flu itself. Dont eat candy or sticky foods until the flu clears.
