Well if you're not Chinese and you don't believe in that, I'm sure that it would be fine for you to get it. I mean think of it this way, you're not even sure how true that statement is? I would just get it if you really want it.

I have many things that hold sentimental value to me and not necessarily worth lots of money. What I value most are those things received from those I love. One Christmas my younger son who was 18 at the time gave me a lovely pair of emerald and gold earrings. I know he saved a long time to buy them and they meant ( and still do) a whole lot to me because I knew he wanted to give me something really special, and he sacrificed to do it.Another year after our family had gone through some very painful times, both sons put their money together and decided to only buy a gift for me that year. I never knew that until years later when one of them told me that they had wanted to make sure I would have an extra special gift that year. The thought behind any gift is what is special to me.

well i don't know if it's a curse BUT it's ur tat and if that's what you want and it means something to you than do it. there's nothing wrong with taking pride in your name. I believe in order for a Chinese curse to have any meaning you would have to be involved in Chinese believes. so worry free and get the tat

Yeah...about the lettering thing. My tattoo guy convinced me that all lettering looks like Prison tattoos. Pick a picture or symbol instead.

i doubt it's a curse, but why would you need to tattoo your name on yourself. in case you forget? i never did understand those tattoos, but if that's what you want, go for it. like i said, i doubt you'll end up cursing yourself.. those only work if you believe in them.
