This is a serious situation. You should find a way to see a doctor, even if its at an emergency room. You don't have a life with that many migraines. You could try Excedrin Migraine - its works pretty well for me for mild ones, especially if taken at the first signs of the headache. The real answer is to get examined... you could have high blood pressure or some other treatable condition.

Been on Imitrex, which after 3 or 4 years gave a heart irregularity, although it was a life saver for the migraines.

Now, at a neurologist and on 50mg of Topomax a day and no migraines since. I had no side effects from this wonderful drug.

I don't know why I did not see a neurologist sooner. I suffered
for over 20 years, now I have none.

good luck to you

Topamax is an excellent, excellent medicine for migraine preventian. I have not had a single migraine while on this medication. The side effects go away the longer you are on the drug. Talk to your doctor.

you need to be on a preventive like topamax. it will help keep them down to a low. i have same problem i now take topamax and elavil for the past 2 years and my migraine have been cut to about 3 every 6 months. it was about 3 or 4 a week. be careful of pain meds like lorcet, they can give rebound headaches. imatrex worked for me...you need a good neurologist.

I found that topomax, amityrptilyne (sp?) and relpax woked for me. However, the side effects were unpleasant. A few months ago I started on a product called Reliv, (www.reliv.com) and I no longer am getting migraines!! It is a nondrug nutritional product.

that's exactly how mine are. I get them 4-5 times a week lasting days on end. my dr tried many things (mainly preventatives) but I didnt like the way they made me feel. The only thing that works is something I take when I feel a very bad one coming on-- it's a barbituate. It's very strong and is the only thing that has worked. my prescription bottle says this on it but/apap/caf. hope this helps

Try Topamax. I am also taking Topamax. Talk to your Doctor about this medication.
