I do prison ministry we hear a lot of colorful comments about our faith directed toward us (by inmates not in our program) when we're walking through the halls. I was also basically disowned by my family for awhile because I was a "Jesus freak"-does that count? I finally realized that these comments and behaviors are actually the biggest compliments that a Christian can get. It only really bothers me when it comes from other believers. I tend to have a strange sense of humour-which has actually been one of my greatest gifts in doing "street" ministry. I joke all the time when preaching -sometimes it is the only way to get people to relate to Jesus. Jesus wants us to have joy and he wants us to tell His story in a way that everyone can relate too. I have had such rude comments from people in this forum who believe that Christians shouldn't tell jokes or laugh. Sorry-you got me started and I am having a rough night.

Hello, Fruitcake:
The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:12: "Yes, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
I have been persecuted in many ways, suppose those who have not are not living "godly in Christ Jesus"
Greater persecutions are in the making. Read about in after crecking the secret Bible code: www.revelado.org/revealed.htm
Blessings, One-Way

The year of the Jubliee, my brother was to be confirmed. My city decided to have a mass Confirmation and Mass in the football stadium. Tens of thousands of people flooded downtown to go to this Mass. And when we were talking to the stadium, there were these people on all of the street corners holding signs that said "Catholic are not Christians" and other crap like that. I was more than a little mad.

If insisting that Christians prove that what they are telling me about their religion is FACTUAL is persecuting them, then I'm guilty and I'll do it again and again until they understand what nonsense they are palming off on to unsuspecting persons. After all, so many Christians feel that non-Christians have been fooled by Satan. It only seems right that I insist that they prove that Satan exists as well.

Fortunately, I have not been directly threatened or persecuted for my faith to date. My children have had their education trivialized because they are not allowed to study anything coming close to the Christian faith. Islam, Buddism, Hinduism, anything BUT Christianity.

i think you are not persecuted because of your faith but because of your ignorance...both things dont have to come together even though some of you make others think so

I once asked why atheists hung around in this forum because I wondered why they would. That got a really venomous response. But that was relatively a minor annoyance.

You got it reversed. Christians used to force people into converting to their religion. Now many tell non-Christians (Like me) that they'll burn in hell. Who is exactly persecuted here?
