Have you asked yourself why you are here on earth? Is it just to have fun? Or, are we here for a very good reason?

When God made us, he implanted within us a burning desire for his will. Knowing his will and following it will give meaning to our life. This implies that it is our responsibility to give meaning to our life. Our task then is to find out his will for us.

God's plan for our lives is etched in our desires. To discover God's plan we need to have a personal relationship with him. But because he gave us free will, he will not tell us to be a doctor, an engineer or priest. That's up to us. That means we have to pray and reflect on it a bit. Maybe even ask other people to help us discern it. No big deal, really.

All of us have received gifts from God. Our primary gift or best gift is an indication of God's plan for us. We will find in it the handwriting of God. It will point to our life project, our assigned purpose, our God ordained mission. It will also point to our happiness.
Peace and every blessing!

Actually Yes, life Does need a Purpose. We all have one whether we realize it or not. The difference is that Religious people tend to have their purpose handed to them while everyone else decides for themselves what life's purpose is.

The problem is not in believing that life has a purpose, but that it has a purpose that is external from ones self. That's where the conflict comes in. If you believe in an external purpose then you will come into conflict with others who claim a different purpose than your own. This is the crux of the cause of much strife between the varying religions.

However, if you know that Purpose comes from within then you automatically know that others may come to a different conclusion than yourself and therefore are more likely to accept the conclusions of others.

You get the wrong impression. Our minds are not filled with doom or gloom. The kinds of questions thrown out there always seem to pertain to them.

I am naturally inquisitive and like to know things. I can't be aimless about life, I totally just can't.

I am a pretty contented person. I have a Savior, I love my pet, my mommy, and my flower garden, and yes, even walks, beaches, sunsets, and people.

I am even going to Disneyworld next month yahoo!!!!!

indeed life needs a purpose. if life does not have any purpose, what is the use of living here on earth? might as well end it.

everything happens for a reason. the same thing goes why god created us. we are here on earth for purposes of something.

just like what rick warren (author of the purpose driven life) said, "the greatest tragedy is not death, but life without a purpose."

a lot of famous and rich people ended their lives because they do not see the purpose why they are here. life with out a purpose is meaningless. marilyn monroe, kurt cobain, and alot more to name a few. like kurt cobain of nirvana, in his good bye letter addressed to his beutiful wife courtney love, said that every night he tries to make the best of everything, he enjoys the fame, the wealth, the crowd, the music, everything yet according to his good bye letter, he didn't see the real meaning of life there. he finds his life EMPTY. that was his last words before he killed himself.

we can only find the real meaning of life with jesus christ. he is the only way, truth, and life. i was once an unbeliever of jesus christ. i even doubted his existence. he is for real and i would say that jesus christ is the real meaning of life. the primary purpose why we here is to glorify his name.

life with out a purpose will mislead you. most people think that a successful career, fame, wealth, and all those things will make life worth living. sad to say, it is not and it would never be. accept jesus christ as your lord and saviour from then on you will see life like no other, a way the way jesus christ made it.

god bless! =)

An individuals life needs a purpose not matter if they are religious or not. Purpose is ambition is success unrealized. Of course life needs a purpose, whether that purpose is god is a matter of choice.

Alby: No - life is not in its existence to solely, derive sensuous pleasure. The purpose for life, simply put, is for mankind to have a relationship with his or her Creator. Apart from this, we all would only need to go to war with one another to derive the most pleasure our bodies could have.

I think it depends on what you want outta life. If you want to live your own way, there's no reason why it should have a meaning, you're happy the way it is. But if you're looking for a reason for everything that happens around you, you may ask yourself, even though i will lead nowhere but a lot of historical and self questioning.
