Hello Friend,
You ask a good and fair question.
If you have an open mind for the Truth, read on.
You will only find out the Truth about Heaven and Hell In God's Book the Bible. If you will not accept what it says as True, then nothing ANYONE else says even matters.
But, if you care to accept it, God's Book says that when you close your eyes for the last time in this life, you will
enter into Eternal Heaven or Eternal Hell. There is NO middle ground, no limbo, no purgatory and NO chance to change your mind after your last breath.
Anyone who tells you differently is selling something,.
God does not grade on the curve. You do not pass or fail to get into Heaven or stay out of Hell.
Those concepts are based on your own achievement.
Rather, it is by the finished work of Jesus Christ ALONE that provides access to Heaven.
In His Book He says "I am the Door". (Jn.10:9)
Simply put, the same Door that lets you in Heaven will keep you out.
Don't look at others. You are right, Some are Christian in name only. Look to Christ He'll Save YOU.
If you truely want to go to Heaven, I can tell you what the Book says. I don't want your money, nor do I have a church for you to join. I am interested in your soul.
Which ever way you decide, God will remind you of these words when you DO see Him face to face. And you will.
I hope to see you there,
Until He comes,
2 Tim. 2:7

heaven is a real place right now. The Bible talks about 3 levels of heaven: firmament, starry heavens, and heaven of heavens.
hell in the Bible, as i can recall, has two meanings: Hades or Sheol, i.e. the grave; and hell as the tormenting fire. The former is what humans are experiencing now. The latter WILL be used by God to cleanse this earth. Its still in the future after the 1000 years of saints' vacation in heaven.

Sorry ...no in between , it's either heaven or hell .We are all sinners deserving hell . Only the blood of Jesus and trusting , believing and accepting Jesus as your savior will let you in heaven. The people who are Christians in name only will either be surprised at judgment day sent to hell or their rewards in heaven will be given to some one else who did Jesus will.

I don't believe in a heaven or a hell. I believe we are reincarnated first of all, and why would there be a hell when god is supposed to be all forgiving and loving? Wouldn't that mean that everyone would go to heaven because he forgave everyone? Think about that! I believe hell is a scare tactic to keep people in a faith that is contradictory in itself.

Its kind of strange that you seem to point out that its all based on being good enough(which is true), but then you say "dont tell me believing in Jesus because that is not good enough". the whole point of the gospel is that not one person is good enough and that is why we need a savior. Jesus was good enough and He died the death we all deserve, so therefore by faith we ARE good enough. that is the gospel(good news)

What a wonderful question! I believe there is a big, solid, bold line drawn between heaven and hell, and its name is GRACE.

The borderline is called a fixed chasm. There is a medium or mediator required to cross over and that is Jesus for he was both fully man and fully GOD making His sacrifice the only one.
