I can understand you being a Sasha fan, but hey give some of the up and coming talent a chance before you reject them out of hand. Besides from what everyone else is saying she'll probably be back in 2008. Besides it just seems to be the nature of the sport skaters come and new faces emerge.
On a another note has anybody been paying attention to how the new balance of power is coming from Asia? Japan has fallen in love with this sport and Kim Yu-na is certainly ushering in S.Korea. Look to the future and don't be stuck in the past or what will become of U.S. figure skating?

Sasha seems to be more interested in a career in acting than skating. She's had parts in a few TV shows and a couple of movies so far. She still skates in shows, but as of right now, it doesn't look like she's interested in competitive skating. It's too bad, really. She's a beautiful skater.

Well Sasha Cohen is currently in Hollywood.....she will continue to skate, but I don't think we will be seeing her in the 2010 olympics. She is a skater, she cant keep off the ice. But she might not compete like she used to.

I do believe both Sasha Cohen and Michelle Kwan plan to make combacks for the next Olympics.
It will be fantastic to see them again.
With them and the new phase of skating talent there may not be room for any other nations on the podium. I'd love to see Kwan, Cohen, and Emily Hughes go Gold, Silver, and Bronze!!!

Sasha is just one of those one-time sensation. Yes, she's a very good skater but she's very inconsistent....and unfortunately for her, so many of the younger ones now are as equally pleasing on the ice if not more....plus they have the technical ability compared to her. The Japanese and the Korean have already broken her records....she's now a has-been.

Sasha decided to take a year off to persue her acting career. But don't worry she'll be back she made that very clear. And right now she's having lots off fun just skating for pleasure and not having to worry about competitions.

She says that she is on a break and trying to pursue other things like acting- but lets face it- she is one of the best figure skaters in the sports history ( not judging on her gold medals-- lol 1 or 2) but on her artistry)... If she could have just not choked over and over again- she could have been unbeatable. But I highly doubt that she will return to amature competition- She wont be able to compete with these girls from Japan,Korea and even our current US girls.

I don't know. She is really interested in acting and modeling now, maybe even more than skating. Maybe she'll come back, maybe she won't. I really hope she comes back because she is a great skater!

Sasha has said that she plans to return to skating. She's taking at least this year off, but she'd like to compete at least in the season leading up to the next Olympics.
We'll have to wait and see if, and when, she returns.

Sasha decided ,that after two olympics and all the worlds and nationals that she's been to, she deserved some time off. So she's taken the year off don't worry she'll be back
