You see my picture on the left. People say honey blonde won't fit my skin color, but why do I see dark-skinned people with different shades of blonde-dyed hair, & they don't look bad?

It is not only the darkness of the skin that matters. There are different complections. It looks good on some dark-skinned people, it looks bad on some light-skinned people. If I were your hair stylist, I might say I don't see it on you, but I'd do it for you anyway if you insisted. Blonde is very easy to re-color.
From what I see in your picture (if my monitor doesn't distort the color too much) blond wouldn't look fantastic on you. Highlights would look hot in my opinion.

My hair is bleached blond for stage performances. It doesn't look fantastic on me in real life but it looks OK. (I look very much like my avatar. LOL.) I found the stylist who agreed to change my hair to the color I asked.

because it is one heck of an upkeep for you. What would really look nice is for you to highlight your hair a shade or 2 lighter than you naturally are and in the same tone. It will be beautiful. When dark hair ppl mention blonde hair....just the word blonde...means really light.....and this would mean for you that your hair is going to have to be bleached and then toned.....and you just are not going to get it to look the way you want it. it is for this reason that I suggest just going a shade or 2 lighter.....it will give you hair dimension, and movement.

A lot of times with such a drastic change, it could really harm the health of your hair, which is probably why the stylist doesn't want to do it. Also, any ethnic-type hair is very sensitive to major changes so they are only looking out for your best interests. Perhaps you could suggest changing your color gradually :)

Some of them look ridicolous however, some of them do look good because everyone has a different complexion. Maybe your hairstylists does not think that the blond would look good on you.

Maybe you should just do a gradual change, start with brown and go lighter and lighter... Good luck!!!

blonde hair does not look good on everyone. it all depends on the shade. you definitely do not want to go super light. try to pick a darker blonde and that might look good. avoid lighter shades, you'll look wierd with really light hair. also the blonde might look odd becuase of the short length but, if you really want it go for it. you never know for sure until you try it.

Your hair is probably damaged. A good stylist would NEVER dye hair that he/she thinks is in danger of becoming damaged or falling out after it gets dyed. Thank your stylist for looking out for you and ask her to do a different style that will stand out without wrecking your hair. I wanted to dye my hair years ago and my hair stylist said NO! Well now my real hair is down my back thanks to her!

Chances are they know what they are talking about. Not to mention you are a walking advertisement for them. They wouldn't want you walking around telling people they did your hair if they were not completely sure they did the right thing by you. Be glad they are professional enough to be honest with you.

I probably wouldn't suggest dying your hair blond...since it is such a drastic change, but it should be YOUR choice...pick a new hair stylist..quick!
