I have this friend who I've known since like 1986 (we graduated high school together in '87) and she's never been married. She's recently taken interest in a 57 year old blind man. (her mom is 62) He wants her to try and get on disability and to eventually marry her. He has grandkids and she has a niece and a nephew. I don't see a positive in this. Any oppinions?

I don't like the sound of it. Has he got an inheritance or something? What will her obligations be and is she realistic about that?
Now I know what MYOB stands for... no I don't think that it is. If you care for and value your friend, then I think you could try and exert some healthy influence on the situation - sensitively. What are friends for? Don't be judgemental to her because you may just alienate her with the opposite effect to that intended.

It is a MYOB thing. I'm a little confused about why he wants her to go on disability because you didn't mention her being disabled in any way. If she isn't able to work though, I can understand him wanting to be sure she has some income and security before they marry. I don't see any problem with his age or his blindness.

In a way it is a MYOB thing. Maybe give her advice, but don't get to into her personal life. She will come to you for advice. It's not your life so don't worry about it.

I guess it's best to leave them to sort things out. Whether they make it or not is not for us to decide. When there's a will, there'll be a way!

SHE NEEDS TO STAY CLEAR OF HIM.

HOW HAPPY CAN SHE REALLLY BE. TELL HER TO WAKE UP AND GO OUT WITH SOMEONE HER OWN AGE AND NOT TO ROB THE GRAVE.
