1. Helps us get into a right relationship with God

A "relationship" is a two-way street. The "relationship" I've seen among religionists appears to be strictly one-way. If you are hearing voices, you should seek a psychological professional.

2. Serves as our guide

An outdated one. Unless you really think that avoiding shellfish and not wearing clothing made from two different kinds of cloth has some hidden value we haven't found yet.

3. Strenghthens us in our grief

I've suffered plenty of grief and your "Word of God" didn't help me one bit. In fact, quite a few of your fellow followers bought their "Word of God" to me in the form of explanations of the horrible suffering my loved ones were going to experience because they didn;t stroke their God's fragile ego properly.

4. Brings joy to our hearts

This may surprise you, but non-Christians can (and frequently do) get just as much joy from life as Christians do. What makes your version of joy so special?

5. Builds up our inner strength and resistance to sin

"Sin" is an imaginary ailment that Christianity insists that everyone suffers from...and that they and they alone convienently have the cure. Just hand over your brain and free will...

6. Gives us expectancy

Of what?

7. By calling us back to God, Scripture restores our soul

I have yet to see any reason to believe that a "soul" even exists outside of the imagination.

8. Facilitates growth in our walk with Christ

Non-Christians don't "walk with Christ" (whatever that hollow platitude means) and they do just fine.

Are you honestly claiming to speak with God? Or are you simply claiming 2,000 year old fiction written by people who thought slavery was an ok practice and believed the world was flat to be the word of God?

..Either way, you are dearly mistaken.

The lies of holy books have as much value as you give them. For me that is 0. For a Evangelical preacher it can get up to a few million.

Maybe so.
But, look-every now and then some of these questions upset the purple jackass and he shows us a little about himself.

Thanks, but what about the Old Testament when God wasn't so nice, in face He was angry and vengeful? Does that make you feel peaceful?
