It's a Ford Ranger, 2003. I have all the doors closed completely, and I haven't even opened them for months. The whole time I've had it closed the door ajar light goes off, but it always comes back on. Its not even the indicator light that bothers me, it's the fact that the inside lights won't turn off when the door "is open." Do you have any solutions?

These vehicles are known for bad switches located on the lock assembly check your ford dealer for a replacement part
I have had many rangers with the same problem with a fleet I manage

Open both your doors and soak the door latches with penatrating oil. Then open and close the doors a lot of times. Or as many as it takes. The door ajar switches in the bottom of the latches are sticking. This is normal maintince. Not a common problem. Its in the maintinence guide that came with the truck. If I spent 30k on a car or truck and it came with a book. I would read it, And if more americans did they wouldent have to buy a new Toyota every three years,

remove the door panel and unplug the swich for the effectived door. to replace the swich if you want to have the light work remove the door panel and at of the bottom of the latch is the swich just turn it and it will pop out. not sure if the base part number has been updated but you can call your ford dealer and ask for a door ajar swich

Well Starsky,(I'm assuming you jump thru the windows). Check the spring sensor inside the door closest to the engine and see if it is broken. It also could be that the dimmer switch is turned on fully, which would mean the 2 problems aren't related.
