The older generations have selfishly and carelessly completely destroyed the global environment, the rain forests and animal species.... all in a glutinous orgy of self-serving consumerism with absolutely no regard for future generations.

I thought so too when I was a kid. I'm old enough to remember Paul Erlich -- if you haven't heard of him he was the Al Gore of the 1970s. He was an alarmist environmentalist that wrote books and gave speeches predicting every sort of environmental catastrophe you can think of and some you haven't heard of. ALL his gloom and doom predictions were wrong.
If the global environment was completely destroyed you wouldn't be alive. The air is cleaner today than in 1970. Most lakes are too. Human life span is longer than ever and those years are generally healthier than any time in history.
Get some historical perspective dude. Hate the older generations if you like, we did. But try to get a clue before you declare the planet to be a total loss.

Well, thanks to smart guys like Paul Ehrlich and others who warned us about upcoming problems, we were able to take action and avoid many of the problems we were headed for back in the 1960s and 1970s. We spent a lot of money on cleaning up pollution and installing anti-pollution devices, and we have started and make huge progress on educating our young people about pollution and environmental problems. If it weren't for the progress we've made in studying these problems, young people wouldn't even know about them!!!
Of course, in the last 30 years we have used a lot of resources - but we didnt use them for ourselves, we used them to provide a cushy life for our spoiled kids who wanted cars, educations, big houses, luxurious schools, and trips to DisneyWorld on big planes. So the resource were really used for the benefit of todays young people, rather than for the old guys. The real people who should be hated are the young people of today who are unwilling to give up the luxuries we've created for them. Their children will be the ones who will suffer.

Are you a communist or just a twit? You revere the older people in your life. They have a great deal of wisdom. They have endured hardships that your candya$$ can't imagine. When you grow up and no longer have a head full of mush then you will realize that.
