It could've been worse if someone cut off his eye-lids and let the sun torture him or mash his balls into a jelly and stick a hot iron poker up his rear. He wasn't even slowly dismembered.

Oh I know he suffered. But you think if he died for our sins he would've experienced the worst death in human history.

A perfect God died physically and spiritually so you could gain
entrance to His presence. I dismiss your question because of
pure ignorance.

flagrum, a quick whip with small balls of lead tied close to the ends of each thong, "is extra down with finished tension many times in the time of Jesus's shoulders, back, and legs. in the beginning, the heavy thongs decrease interior the direction of the exterior in basic terms." succeeding blows, whether, "decrease deeper into the subcutaneous tissues generating first an oozing of blood from the capillaries and veins of the exterior and finally, spurting arterial bleeding from vessels interior the underlying muscular tissues." The whip tears into the deep skeletal muscular tissues to produce ribbons of bleeding flesh. on the mocking of Jesus, a crown of thorns replaced into pushed into his scalp, inflicting extra bleeding, the scalp being between the main veined areas of the human physique. Iron spikes measuring 5 t o 7 inches are pushed with the aid of Jesus' palms (some money owed say the wrists could be extra precise area. Medically speaking, the wrists are area of the palms). because of the fact the hand is packed with sensory nerves, any stimulation might reason agonizing pictures of soreness in the two palms, and probably with the aid of the physique. The ft are nailed next, and Jesus is now crucified. The nailed palms carry the load of Jesus's entire physique and tear on the injuries. meanwhile, the stimulation of the nerves in ft is likewise inflicting Jesus plenty soreness.

Jesus' sufferings were no cakewalk, and you disrespect Him when you suggest that somehow, it "wasn't bad enough".

Jesus' sufferings and death were meticulously calculated for over a thousand years. Read up on the "right" way to make a sacrifice (in Leviticus and Deuteronomy), and then compare it with what was done to Him. You will find some startling similarities!

That you think, in your arrogance, you could have done a better job of torturing another human being (let alone this one!) only shows the sad state of your own soul.

Please come to your senses.

the cruelty or not so cruel as possible is not the point. thats why i have objection to movies, pastors, easter pagents, etc, making the cruelty the most important thing. It wasnt required to be the all time leader in horror. the important thing was that He was put to death for our sins. We all deserve to die. Most of the answers here tried to debate you on how much he suffered phsically. He suffered and died. thats enough. I hope you see what He did for all of us and get over your bitterness. There is plenty to be bitter about in this life. thats why Christians look forward to heaven

He did. Crucifixion, in case you didn't know, is pretty painful. On top of that, God turned his face away from Jesus. Now that is pretty horrible. Jesus' best friend, his father, the object of his love, devotion, and obedience, turned his back on Jesus. (this was because Jesus took upon himself the sins of the world...and God and sin don't mix)

I think, on top of the pain of the cross, that would make the worst death imaginable. It would be like your parents, or your best friend, or your spouse disowning you at your excruciatingly painful death. Not only is that painful physically, it is also emotionally/mentally.

Not all pain is experienced by the body, folks.

Strictly speaking, he got off easy. A crucified victim took days to die...either through asphyxiation or exposure.

More to the point, he was killed as a martyr to his own cause. The only reason that he was killed at all was because what he was saying a) was in violation of Judaic law, and b) was a direct threat to the power brokers of his culture.

How Christians pull the magical "sins of the world" out of this is laughable to me. He was not making a sacrifice of himself to appease some magic debt that humanity had accrued for being evil enough to be born. He refused to recant his claims and defied the religious authorities.

"Oh my Dear sweet Jesus! Forgive him for he knows not what he is saying!" I had to leave my computer and cry before coming back and and answering your question. I am just speechless! I don't know what I can say! These things you mentioned are disgusting! I've asked Father God to forgive you!

Until you've walked a mile in His shoes.......up a hill called Mt. Calvary carrying a cross on your torn, ripped-apart bruised, beaten and bloody back.....then have spikes nailed into your wrists and feet while you slowly suffocate on that cross; a spear piercing your side, all the while looking down with tender love on your own Creation doing this to you, and ALLOWING them to do it, because there's NO OTHER way they can be redeemed from the grips of HELL, you'd be WISE not to speak of such IDIOCY!!!

Having the skin on your back sliced like a tomato, and having your hands and feet punctured by nine inch nails and having thorns puncture your skull isn't exactly the most desired and peacefull way to die. I don't think you would be joking like this unless of course you are 13 years old and still like to burn ants with a magnifying glass. Death and dying are not fun things to joke about especially about someone Who many love and respect as God. How would ypu like it if someone made fun of one of your family members in that way?
