I think Manhattan Girl is right to some extent. I'll admit, I used to be a really ardent Creation proponent. I would have argued strongly that the world was 6,000 years old and was created in six days, just like it says in the Bible. However, I took a few science classes when I got to college and realized that a lot of the things that Creationists say about Evolution are either flat our wrong or distorted. So you see, I eventually gained some wisdom. Maybe the others will too at some point.

But yeah, I think some may use it as an excuse to not study. The assertions they make about Evolution loudly advertise their ignorance on the subject, which shows that they either are not studying in science class or the subject is just not being taught properly.

Depends on the person, I suppose. I study evolution because I have fun with my friend (we're both atheists) arguing in circles with our devout Christian friend. (We all respect each other. Well, they're both guys, and chauvinist pigs, so they don't respect me as much as they should. The only reason I have some of their respect now is because the first time they called me a b¡tch, I walked to the side of the table they were sitting on, grabbed them both by the hair, and knocked their heads together several times. While yelling at them. =D ) That, and the fact the evolution is REAL!

In time-honored fundie style, even nevertheless you assert you're no longer, you have all started with a end and ignore approximately something that would not help that paradigm. What "tells" a working laptop or pc code to act, that's the pc code. DNA is a hight stepped forward code, it "acts" because it became stepped forward to do. no person "tells" it to act. "Order can in basic terms come from intelligence" it incredibly is your end and you will no longer settle for something that would not help it. The honey bee could be loss of life because of the fact of an element of pollutants, or perhaps the develop in international temperature, that it can not evolve speedy sufficient to house on a sizable scale. yet like a number of animals, some would proceed to exist because of the fact of organic determination and then repopulate. we can comprehend some years, a protracted time or centuries down the line. you're making a end devoid of information, only making the top because of the fact it suits your paradigm. you're splendid that scientists "created" a sterile ecosystem to test in. however the test became designed to tutor that amino acids would be created decrease than specific situations no longer in basic terms by ability of the trillions to a minimum of one risk that fundies say. They have been created in a medical test and no person, such as you, ought to declare that it ought to no longer have befell 4.5 billion years in the past. The Cambrian Explosion became the place creatures that must be fossilized grew from. earlier than that there have been at maximum one celled animals that don't fossilize nicely.

I would like to say this before I end up in the woods or on the streets because of corruption in Canada and our wonderful regulations that biaselly favour certain people over others!!

I believe that life was somehow created and was designed to evolve! You may believe in gods and evolution, but does it not make sense that life is a combination of the two? Look at a simple weed in your garden. It was somehow created by someone or something and it evolved and continues to mutate and evolve when you spray it with weed killer! This is one example of many!

Not really, rather I think they use it as an excuse to remain ignorant in all aspects of life, not just school. Where I went to school, that was what you learned, and if you didn't like it, you could always pay a load of money and go to the religious schools. Only two of those met the state standards for college admittance, so you could kiss your life goodbye if you went to one of the fundie schools.

Evolution is not a faith you believe in. It is a scientific THEORY. And , as little time as that THEORY takes to go over, I'd think if a student doesnt work at ANY of his studies, the teacher isn't keeping an eye on them

Very likely. Schools need to stop being sympathetic to religious notions like not accepting evolution, and just fail the kids who don't manage to learn it enough to at least understand it, if not accept it. You can't get out of math based on your religious beliefs, and no one would accept your religion telling you that fractions don't exist - so why do they get away with it in science?

If only that was the only reason.

As far as the Creationists, YECs, and IDists are concerned, they have to "truth" wrapped up in a neat little package and that is the end of it. No questions allowed. Because questioning their position is seen as questioning the word of God.

No wonder the Dark Ages lasted so long.

Based on some of the assertions I've seen about evolution, I'm not certain it's being taught in school.

Still got that avatar of a Falcon, even though you fly an Eagle, I see.

Consider trading up to a Sport2 when you're ready. The Eagle's lack performance and are rather stiff/stable to fly.

:)
