I feel as if I had the flu. Went to Dr. was prescribed OTC's Sudafed, and Robitussin. 2 days later I feel a lil better(no more body aches), but having major runny nose, stuffy nose, ears popping, and pressure around the eyes. Is this normal in the common cold, or should I return to the Dr again.

This is normal.

Remember, when you have the flu, you have a cough. With the common cold, you usually don't have a cough at the begining of your illness.

Here are some symptoms of the flu.

The symptoms of influenza (flu) appear suddenly and often include:

Fever of 100 F to 104 F, which can reach 106 F when symptoms first develop. Fever is usually continuous, but it may come and go. Fever may be lower in older adults than in children and younger adults.
Shaking chills.
Body aches and muscle pain (often severe), commonly in the back, arms, or legs.
Headache.
Pain when you move your eyes.
Fatigue, a general feeling of sickness (malaise), and loss of appetite.
A dry cough, runny nose, and a dry or sore throat. You may not notice these during the first few days of the illness when other symptoms are more severe. As your fever goes away, these symptoms may become more evident.
When fever is high, other symptoms usually are more severe.

If you aren't better in 7 days, then a return visit would be advised.

WARNING about Zicam nasal spray:
Approximately 400 lawsuits have been filed against Zicam since 2003, some by users who say they lost their ability to smell and taste after using the product only once.

All of those annoying symptoms are fairly normal with a cold. You might try some Zicam or other product that might help shorten the length of the cold. And don't forget lots of fluids to stay hydrated. Hope you feel better soon!

you have a sinus infection. common colds can produce symtoms like that but if your not getting better than you were misdiagnosed. you need an antibiotic. just had one like 3 weeks ago.
