What is the pupose of life? One of the wisest men in the Bible, King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiates 12:13-14, the answer to that question.
Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

This life is a test, which determines where we are going to live forever after we die. There are angels recording everything that we're doing, which goes in our own personal records, which will be used to judge us by God All-Mighty.
We're here to worship the one and only God (Allah), to do good deeds, to abstain from doing evil, etc...as much good as we can do to get more "points" to attain the highest level in the afterlife and to avoid going to the hell fire.
The Holy Qur'an is your best resource, and also teachings from the last prophet of God (Muhammad, peace be upon him).
All the best in your search for the truth!

Since you are created in the image of God, the first purpose is to know about God and to obey him? All the rest fall into place within this foundation.

It's your life.
You can make it fuel any purpose you chose-
or, your life can have no purpose other than to use up our precious resources.
It's completely and totaly your choice.
And the purpose is different for each of us.

To achieve eternal life. Earth is sort of a "test" and place to gain knowledge. When we sin we are not eligible to make it back to heaven. But through Jesus Christ's attonement and the power of repentance we have a way to make it back to heaven, and thus eternal life and Joy

90% of the cells in your body is bacteria and they rule the world. Your body is how they get around. You're their transportation vehicle, their living medium and eventually you're a meal for them. That is the meaning of life.

None at all, unless you choose to define one for yourself.
“I don't think we're here for anything, we're just products of evolution. You can say, "Gee, your life must be pretty bleak if you don't think there's a purpose,” but I'm anticipating a good lunch.” -- James Watson (DNA Structure Co-discoverer.)

You mean earthly life?
It is a continuing phase from your life in the testicle of your father, into the womb of your mother, continued to the womb of earth, and finally into the eternal life with the Spiritual Father in Heaven.
From father to FATHER; be blessed
