Q: Does my child qualify for automatic citizenship under the CCA?
Ans: Under the CCA, your child will automatically acquire U.S. citizenship on the date that all of the following requirements are satisfied:

At least one parent is a U.S. citizen,
The child is under 18 years of age, and
The child is admitted to the United States as an immigrant

I came here on April 18, 2001 and my father was citizen at that time. I satisfy all the qualification Above, but then there is another issue to it.

Q: Is automatic citizenship provided for those who are 18 years of age or older?

Ans: No. Individuals who are 18 years of age or older on February 27, 2001, do not qualify for citizenship under the CCA, even if they meet all other criteria. If they wish to become U.S. citizens, they must apply for naturalization and meet eligibility requirements that currently exist for adult lawful permanent residents.

can someone take a close look at the issue and tell me If I am Citizen yet?

I believe it is only if you are born here by an illegal citizen that the child gets automatic citizenship. So I agree with the first guy. If you are not legal, get out!!!!!!!!!

I am not QUITE sure I understand your question. How old were you when you came into the US?

Because from what you wrote above, if you came into the US while your father was a citizen and you were under 18, you qualify.

The fact that you are NOW over 18 should only be a paperwork issue, I hope. I know that if someone is born overseas of a US citizen they are US citizens, and while a paper should be filed right away, there is another paper you can file after you are 18 to clear it up.

Ask at uscis.gov

If you were under 18 then you can file a document for citizenship now if you were over 18 you have to file to adjust status under the N 400 email me and tell me more so I can tell you what the qualifications are and if you actually derive citizenship or not but if you were over 18 by that date then you aren't a citizen until you meet the requirements.

No not necessarily. Just because you have a baby here doesn't constitutionally make that child a US citizen. People are confused on that part of the article. But most people assume it means if they have an anchor baby that its a US citizen.
I think if you go to the immigration citizenship administration you will find you are a citizen.
I'm glad you speak and write English. Thank you for respecting our country. God bless.

you must be either born here or a minor child of a person who receives citizenship to become an "automatic citizen"

I would contact an immigration office or an immigration lawyer to get a real answer. You most likely will not get it here.

You can call and ask Immigration about this issue. They "should" be able to answer this question.
