My natural color is dark blondish brown. I had blonde hair 2 yrs ago but then I dyed it black. After awhile, I wanted to lighten it up a bit because I am pale and black hair made me look like a gothic's princess (not to mention ugly light grown-out roots). I got it lightened by getting high lights and by using a lightener on the entire dyed area.
Now, my hair pretty much looks like my hair is morphing rainbow of blonde to brown!
Anyways, I want to bleach the entire top layer enough to consider me a blonde, like definitely on the LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT side. Should i? Is it too damaged? Or is blonde just...overrated?

Dye your hair blonde and then get a few golden blonde lowlights. If you dont want to do that dye the top of your hair blonde then get a darker colour undernieth.

OMG whatever you do, don't do it yourself! I was pretty much in the same situation a few years ago. If you want to go blond, I say go for it. If your hair is lightened up enough from what you've done already, I would recommend you go to a salon and have them do a full set of highlights and low lights. It will look much nicer that way than to dye the whole thing blond.

Dont do it yourself, hair color especially lightening should be left to the professionals. It is very damaging to the hair if you bleach it, especially if you do it yourself. Go to the salon and look through the binder of hair colors and see which blonde will suit your skin tone and face best. Also, with blonde hair color, you have to make a commitment to maintain it every month to keep up with your roots.

And yes, blonde is overrated.

the best idea that i think would start everything fresh and new is to go to a salon and have them give you blonde hair but to give it a more natural new fresh look have them give you highlights of different blonde colors that blend to give it a new look.
