I just met a new friend. Whenever we talk, we talk a lot and she laughs a lot and is very friendly. But whenever we just see each other on campus or passing each other on the way to clear, she just looks at me blankly or just wave normally. SHE DOESN'T EVEN SMILE! She has a bf, but she could at least just smile. Why is she doing this? You don't think she has a thing for me do you? (I hope not).

She might like you, but since she already has a boyfriend, she doesn't know how to act around you in public. Maybe she doesn't want to give you the wrong impression if she does just see you as a friend. The only way to know is to ask her.

She may have enjoyed your company when she is alone with you. She is aloof with you on campus maybe because she does not want her circle of friends or boyfriend to see her smiling and being friendly with you.
Are you the type of guy who is popular on campus? Perhaps she is hesitant in taking chances and is maneuvered by peer pressure.
As of now, I cannot say she likes you. All I can see from your situation is that she may like your company and considers it very special as of the moment. Perhaps you have given her a great time of her life by making her laugh. After all, ladies/women loves and enjoys sensible humor from guys.

Some girls may worry that the boyfriend will see how she is acting when she sees you. When she talks on the phone with you may be the only time she could be herself with no fear and have that private time to let go. It's hard to tell if she has a thing for you but if you enjoy your talks on the phone with her then accept that for what it is and don't expect much more. If you still need to know then just ask her the next time you talk on the phone.

Calm down Casanova. No she doesn't have thing for you. But maybe she's just introvert in a non social setting. You are just walking by and waving. What do you expect her to do? Stop run to you smile shake your hand hug you? No. Besides it sounds like YOU are the one that likes her.

Don't think too much of it, she either wants to keep it a good secret between you and her, avoid the mess and gossip that would ensue if you look at each other too much or smile too hard...
Or it's possible that she isn't good in showing how much she likes you in public.

the people she hangs around with might not like you (i don't want to sound mean) but she just doesn't say anything to you in case someone sees her. It happens to A LOT of people, not a big problem. Why don't you ask her. don't assume anything though, you can but don't confront her.

just join the group of us people who are treated like this. I have been treated like this my whole life. They are your best friend when no one else is around and the minute that other are there or you bumb into them there eh hi.

You may be considered unpopular (no offense) but thats wat popular girls do. They will talk 2 u wen u guys are alone but are too embarrassed to talk 2 u in front of others.
