Yeah. I was wondering if any people who have been "unschooled" have noticed any positive or negative affects on their life after leaving home.

I don't know any unschoolers who have been disappointed with their lives after leaving home. This website
http://sandradodd.com/teens
has many websites and stories of unschooling teenagers. this website has some older kid stuff

i've met several of them at conferences and trips, and they are all wonderful people.

I haven't left home (yet) but I find that homeschoolers/unschoolers are much brighter and more aware of themselves and others from a younger age than many school kids are. Probably has something to do with the fact that they haven't been forced to fit the slanting profiles and stereotypes which school viciously forces onto people.

I was Home-schooled from the 6th grade on. I was able to start taking classes at our local Jr. college while I was still a "sophomore". And, then I was able to turn those high school credits into college credits in order to get a jump on my AS degree. I found that by the time I graduated high school (a year earlier than my public school friends) I knew more "practical life stuff". I could balance a checkbook, plan a budget, cook, do my own laundry LOL, etc.

Parents can teach their public school children the same things. But, it doesn't always happen. I left home at 19 & was able to function great in "the real world"! And, I was no less social or well rounded then my public school friends.

do you know the difference between unschooling and home schooling?
neither is really a specific program. unschooling is a kind of home schooling, an unregimented and child-led approach.
