I like Rapalas if I had to use one it would be a floating black and silver or black and gold. Small ones this time of year.

I am in love with a new lure I just tried its a Heddon Pop~N~Image Jr. I used a shad color and just would twich it a couple times and pause it and the bass were exploding on it. I never did the usual popping motion just a couple twiches and let it sit . I also cast it and let it sit for 5 to 10 seconds. Several bass hit it as soon as it hit the water before I ever started my retrieve.

Here is a pic of some bass caught in less than 2 hours on it the other evening. I have caught 40 + bass of the same lure in the last few outings

the best rapala lure is the Dive to series and i like the D-16 crankbait. I live in California where the lakes are a lot deeper so if you live in Florida or something than I recommend getting on that doesn't dive 16ft, but yeah, thats my favorite. Oh, and i like it in Bluegill color

i think the new x raps are the ticke,t bass move shallower this time of year and get a little more agressive.heck i still like the old silver side black back twitch bait rapalas.I feel the deep diving bats are best int he summer but thats just me .all lakes fish different.
