If you had a young daughter and for whatever reason you had to put her up for adoption, when it came to the appropriate time when she reached puberty, would you be happy that she'd a) been placed with a couple of male homosexuals and b) that they showed her about tapons/sanitary towels and explained about periods?

I personally would be absolutely apalled, but then I am biased in that I feel homosexuality is wrong and not so much a crime against God, but a crime against Nature itself, but I would be interested to hear other peoples views?

From a previous question about homosexuality, I've determined that some homosexuals know they've got a problem - so wouldn't it make sense to see if they can overcome this problem?

Some say it's not a case of fear but no attraction - well apart from the Stocholm Syndrome, which is an extreme situation, you're not exactly going to be attracted to someone you're frightened of are you?

Wouldn't it make sense to sort the problem out - find a way to help them overcome this phobia - find a woman they can 'click' with and have a baby in the normal way - as apposed to using a sperm bank, making yet another child want to know who his/her daddy is and why there's no mummy or why there's TWO mummies where there should only be one?

By the way - interesting statistic this, but did you know that Holland which teaches sex education to six years - has 5 times less teenage pregnancies than paranoid England! That speaks volumes doesn't it?

It seems someone else is concerned about homosexuals in society:-

That's why I am in favor of open adoption which allows the birth mother to pick the people that adopt her child.

Too weird.
Sorry I would think that they would have a book or some instructions on how to do it.
I don't believe that a man would have any idea either
the instructions and directions and input would be enough to give the person an idea. My mom never had a clue didn't use them and she was my natural mother. She couldn't tell me what to do the instructions did.

Look at the instructions it gives enough information and there is such a thing as girl talk and I am certain if other directions needed to be given a physician or a girlfriend would be of assistance too. It doesn't always mean that the couple would have to be the directors. as well there is always the world wide web that would be of help too.
It doesn't have to be a or the parents. Geez
Think about it
There is so much discrimination against so many how come its so hard to accept and allow other people to just be.
I find that the world has enough problems as it is without adding more.
Accept as a fellow human being.
Is it that hard to do?

what would you do if a child of yours came to you and said
Mom Dad I don't like the opposite sex I prefer the same sex as myself Do you think that something when wrong in the genetic split up ... there are reasons why these things happen
but I don't have the answer to why?????
good luck with your results.

. I too am biased but I believe there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. If I had to give a child up for adoption I wouldn't be appalled that her new dads had to teach her about puberty. I mean thats what parents do right? Single dads do it all the time. Maybe some couples have sisters or close female friends that can help in that department

Sounds fine to me. Just because they are gay, it doesnt make them bad parents. In a culture where homosexuality is becoming more widely accepted, I have no problem with it. A person's sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with their parenting skills. It still confuses me how many ignorant people think that gay's are child molesters, when almost half of the child molestion cases are involved with priests.

If you have chosen to put your young child up for adoption, you should be happy and thankful to know that here is someone (people) willing to answer any and all questions that he/she may have. It should not matter if they are homosexual or not.
You are always able to have an OPEN adoption were you are able to choose the adopters your self, if you are concerned that a homosexual may adopt your child.

if you were a single, hetero father,or if you recieved custody of a female relative how would you teach that child about menstration? odd's are you'd do your best and when in doubt, you'd seek the help of a female friend or relative. why would a homosexual father be any different? do you think that for some reason they would know anything about tampons b/c they're gay? your question really makes no sense at all. it is not based on anything but ignorance. if i had to give a child up for adoption and the best couple happened to be gay, who care's? as long as i know my child will be loved and cared for is all that matters. how do you know that just b/c a couple is hetero that they'll care for your child better?

there are many different opinions a lot of them based on religion. however, personally i think its fine. if these 2 males care for this child as a baby and made sure she had everything she needed, they deserve the right to be called her parents. and one major role of parents with a daughter is teaching her about periods and how to care for herself at that time. it just shows they care and that they became educated on this topic to help her when she would be confused.

And umm single dads should be banned too?

Seriously my dad had to explain to a teenaged girl in the hospital once how to put in a vaginal suppository. Her mom was there and wouldn't.

Just because you are a straight woman doesn't make you a good mom. Just because you are a gay man doesn't make you insenstive or incapable of understanding women's issues.

Personally I would take advice from my dad over my mom anyday. Also I prefer male doctors because I find female doctors are really nasty when it comes to female issues they don't have. They assume if they don't have painful menstruation or UTIs that you are faking it or dirty.

I woulnd't mind if she was in a happy and nuturing envirnoment. I was raised by a mother and a father. I had a very unhappy childhood. I would have much rather been raised by a gay couple and have had an enviroment that was nuturing. I would want the same for my daughter... a nuruting envirnoment.. no matter what the paratenl situation

It's not sexual orientation that makes someone unfit to teach and guide a child to become a good person, it's their individual personality. Key word: individual. One person is one way and therefor it is true to say that not all people with the same characteristic will be the same way. A man can raise a child girl on his own until she is 18. He has no wife or girlfriend, just a single straight guy. There's nothing wrong here. There's nothing that will say that becuase her dad is homosexual that he can't teach her things. A person raises a child not sexual orientation.

If my child couldn't be taken care of by me, and they were willing, and could emotionally, financially, be great parents then I'd have no problem. There are single dads out there that have to do it... Grow up!
