The French currency is dead for a few years now. It has been replaced by the Euro. The exchange rate is 1 euro for 6,55957 francs. You can still change your old francs at the Banque de France who is also manufacturing euros for France and the other countries of the Euro-zone.

Before the Franc we had the old Francs with was ( if I'm not mistaken ) 1 franc for 100 old francs. It brought lots of difficulties for old people.

As for the French language, which is a different topic, what to say? It is now and for a few more days : les journées de la francophonie that is to say : the French speakers' days all around the world. French is spoken in a lot of African countries and a few Asian and European countries.

There's no more French currency: it used to be the "franc"; but now we use a currency common to some European countries, called Euro.
1 euro is worth 6,56 former francs!

France uses the Euro. The € has replaced the franc as well as other currencies in the EU, such as the lira, peseta, mark, etc. I think Ireland, Sweden, & Holland also use €'s. Britain still uses pounds, even though I think they're also in the European Union.
