plus i have not seen him in about 8 months so i feel it will seem a bit awkward.

I dont think there is anything wrong in wishing him a happy birthday, but... if he is seeing someone at the moment, I wouldnt do it.

Well, if ur both single, I don't see a problem with it. But then too, it depends on if you two ended on bad terms or not. I think that would be a decent thing to do. Who knows, maybe you could rekindle flames........
